Mantises (is this the plural form?!) are extremely quick, agile and can wield their claws like a ninja can with shuriken. Not to mention their exoskeleton armor and hunter's mentality. Chipmunks, on the other hand, are soft, herbivorous and averse to fighting. They can't even sing, let alone take out a mini killing machine that the mantis is.
