Harbaugh Says Patriots Titles Are Tainted

118 posts in this topic

First Flacco. Now Harbaugh. Why can't the Ravens just give generic answers to the media, they should know the score by now. I know what he's saying, but given what just happened in the title game, it comes off as sour grapes.

And yet, when either Harbaugh or Flacco give "blah, blah, blah" answers, people get all bummed out that nothing was said. At least this should spice things up a bit.

Agreed. There was no reason to bring it up at all. If there is a silver lining to it, I just hope it's that Harbs' comments take front and center over other Ravens related news and the constant Flacco-bashing by the media and questioning whether Ray Lewis and Ed Reed should be on the field or in a retirement home takes a backseat for a while. But I really do wish Steve would issue a gag order on all personnel for a month or so.

What is wrong with telling the truth or how you feel? Really I don't like the media or so called fans( you get mad at what I'm saying I am talking to you!!!) When players say how they feel they are ungrateful, and don't appreciative of the opportunity. It is funny everybody toe the line and be quiet, I don't know how the majority of you live that way.

You could look it at that way......or.... ...you could see that what John is trying to say that we are a well run organization and do not have to resort to unethical 'edges' to win.

Harbaugh went really easy on the Spygate scandal...lol...

What else can he have said when someone directly ask you about the spygate?

Nothing wrong with it, but why do it in the first place? You can have your opinion, but why express it in a public forum if it's just going to draw un-needed attention to yourself and your team?

Don't know exactly what he said that hasn't been said like a million times on spygate. Its pretty much assumed by everybody that the Patriots championships are tainted to some degree (even if they didn't have an impact - like he stated). Just like the Saints.

Well, they are tainted.

Belicheck continues to skirt the rules and the NFL offices allow it. When the NFL destroyed the evidence I understood that those two entities are in bed together, the home cooking the Patriots get no matter where they strap 'em up only implicates the NFL offices further.

See hiring McDaniels in the playoffs.

Kind of unnecessary to bring up. The league punished the Patriots with the available information, they couldn't take away any championships even if the likelihood of the Patriots cheating during their championship run was high. The league punished them. Its a dead deal.

I don't disagree with what he said, but the fact is that a) he has zero titles to his name and b ) the Ravens just lost to the Patriots in heartbreaking fashion. People will spin it as sour grapes. He did himself and the team no favors, especially in this post-draft desperate for news period.

The reason where we taught since we were young playing on even level field, which is the case they were caught cheating point blank, now on the PFT, saying pats going to run up the score, talking noise and what not. Someone tell the truth everybody gets scared and hide, I know they right everybody is afraid of the truth. It is in plain sight to see

People are already QQing about this lol. He gave a truthful answer and it's a lot more mild than what some have said about it. It's a May non-story.
Not really, but you tried. All he's saying is that people will always bring it up when talking about their titles. But I'm already seeing the uproar in Twitter, and the PFT comments speak for themselves.

No I agree if he wants to say it go ahead, but I'm just questioning why he wants to say anything in the first place? It's like Flacco and the top-5 qb comments. If I were Harbs, I would have said "Our only concern is that they were the better team this year and we need to be the better team next year. I don't care about the past, I look to the future." Period. In Flacco's case when asked about his agent's comments, he should have said what he said last week all those months ago. "I don't compare myself to any other quarterback in the league. I have confidence in my abilities and in my teammates' abilities." Then you don't get all of this nonsense in the media - it's like all the crap Rex Ryan has said the past 3 years, and every year when the Jets lose that crap comes back to bite them. It's not about what you really believe, I think it's about not inviting anything in that could distract your team from its goals, is all.

The media brought it up. Not us. They got the answer they wanted. Now they'll try to spin it on us looking like a clown. You know how media darlings are.

I might catch hate but I love this. I always had a theory that in sports you're not here to make friends. If you feel youre the best then say it. Our team was lacking this kind of confidence previous to the 11 season and I like how people are starting to come out of their shells. You should speak your mind and back it up on the field that way you get teams best and in turn should play your best. Also is what he said false? According to my scoreboard they are 0-2 since caught cheating. Even Peyton said he thought they were bugging rooms and we still don't know what was on those tapes.

He was asked a question about the Saints scandal and he decides to answer it as a broader picture (which included the Patriots). I don't have a problem like that.

Harbs isn't like Rex. Rex goes out and makes these statements on his own. Stirs the pot. Harbs is answering a question he was asked.

Bruschi responds. Can't open the link on my phone, but I'm sure it's a doozy.

I'm sorry, but I cant defend Harbaugh here. Tomlin, Coughlin, McCarthy...could you see any of them saying anything like this? Before I hated that the Ravens never got any media attention but now I'm thinking we're getting far too much.

Ridonkolous non-story.

Screw bill. If he Belicheat has some grudge over the mistakes he made, then so be it.

Belichick should've been suspended just like Sean Payton has been suspended. Belicheat didnt even apologize when Sean has. Not my type of Coach. He is a coward.

Truly!!!!!

If the NFL offices had a shred of decency Belicheck would have been suspended for atleast as long as Gregg Williams. Belicheck compromised the integrity of the biggest game in sports numerous times and also during the regular season. Is it any wonder he hasn't won anything since??? Slapping him on the wrist as he mismanaged the cap was and still is to this day ridiculous.

Don't expect BSPN to say anything negative about the Pats though.
