What Will Courtney Upshaw's Madden Rating Be?

21 posts in this topic

I'm guessing this..

Overall - 76
Speed - 75
Strength - 84
Acceleration - 78
Power Moves - 87
Finesse Moves - 74
Block Shedding - 83

Sound pretty close? Haha strictly guessing..

Sounds pretty close to me. Jimmy Smith was a 76 I think and he was the 27th overall last year.

It's the people behind Madden that has created some of the rookies, so that you can get their cards in Madden Ultimate Team and play with them.

So, that is what he will be rated in next year's game? If so, that's complete bull. He was considered a top 10 pick at one time. I think he should at least be rated a 75 overall.

Yes most likely. But they won't promise if that is the final ratings.

That won't be his final rating. Kindle is rated higher than that and Upshaw will be rated higher than Kindle.

The Madden team change ratings according to the draft, so Browns QB Weeden gets bumped up to a 72 and someone like Upshaw who fell in the draft will get dropped 70, that's just the way it is, theres also a bump for players taken by big market teams. Upshaws potential should remain an A though.

(#1) Andrew Luck: 85
(#2) Robert Griffin III: 83
(#3) Trent Richardson: 83
(#4) Matt Kalil: 83
(#5) Justin Blackmon: 80
(#6) Morris Claiborne: 81
(#7) Mark Barron: 80
(#8) Ryan Tannehill: 75
(#9) Luke Kuechly: 78
(#10) Stephon Gilmore: 73
(#11) Dontari Poe: 75
(#12) Fletcher Cox: 74
(#13) Michael Floyd: 75
(#14) Michael Brockers: 69
(#16) Quinton Coples: 76
(#17) Dre Kirkpatrick: 75
(#18) Melvin Ingram: 76
(#20) Kendall Wright: 74
*(#22) Brandon Weeden: 72
(#23) Riley Reiff: 78
(#24) David DeCastro: 84
(#25) Dont’a Hightower: 74
(#26) Whitney Mercilus: 73
(#31) Doug Martin: 75
(#32) David Wilson: 72

*(#34) Coby Fleener: 75
*(#35) Courtney Upshaw: 70
*(#38) Andre Branch: 70
*(#41) Cordy Glenn: 79
*(#42) Jonathan Martin: 73
*(#43) Stephen Hill: 68
*(#45) Alshon Jeffery: 65

This is why I hate the Ratings Guru. I disagree with pretty much every rating there. Some are close to what they should be, others are completely jokes. Jeffery a 65? While Tannehill and Weeden are 75 and 72 respectively?

I just don't like rookie ratings too much. Untill we see them play we have no idea of their ratings. I mean look at the 09 draft:
Stafford: 79 OVR
Jason Smith: 84 OVR, and he is horrible today
Aaron Curry: 85 OVR, overrated
Crabtree: 84 OVR, to high
Clay Matthews: 75 OVR

Rookie ratings are useless until something like 5-8 weeks into the season

I don't remember Kindle's rating but I expect it to be around those lines.

The Madden team said that his rating will be 70, look at the card. Maybe they will change it to 69-71

And that's why they should be doing something else. Nobody that works for them is an adept talent evaluator.

The only good thing they've done is adding Edit Player Ratings during Franchise Mode, so I can fix their awful mistakes.

his block shedding is a 83...that's decent for an OLB in madden

his hit power is a 93...that is AWESOME for an OLB in madden. i will definitely be droppin' cats with Upshaw opposite Suggs.

I feel a 70 OVR rating is too low for Upshaw.
[/quote]
Every team probably feels like that about their rookie. But yeah sure Upshaw had first round potential, maybe even top 10, but he did fall to the 2nd round, with some concerns about his size. So 70 is probably fair to begin with.
