Root it!

I rooted mine on the second day I got it. Put Dolphin Browser on it. My favorite android browser.

But if you hit next on the mobile browser and there is no next page, it will do that I think.

Of course as soon as I posted the native browser works on the mobile skin. I'm good for now but the developers might want to look at the alternate browser.

Rooting frees your Kindle (or any android device - the equivalent would be jailbreaking an iphone) from Amazon's death grip. The Kindle is a powerful android device but Amazon hinders it. Ofcourse rooting is not for the faint of heart. You could brick it - like I did.

But I turned it into a regular Android Tablet. With GoLauncher (insteader of the Amazon launcher with the bookcase), Android Market (instead of Amazon's market - much more apps). And a hole bunch of other features you can't do on a standard Kindle. You can also change your wallpaper, etc.

But it can be a pain. But to me its like a hobby. It restricts access to prime videos once you root, but there is an easy workaround for that.

Never even heard of dolphin.

Not default. 3rd party browser. Dolphin browser IMO is the best browser for andriod. Has a feel like chrome for PC.

Also after I rooted, I switched out the Kindle keyboard for Swiftkey keyboard. Much better.

I bricked my Kindle after trying to install something to the bootup. I was sweating bullets. I was able to eventually push some drivers from my PC after a lot of trial and error. I was about ready to buy a new one, and hide the bricked one from my wife.

They have the Kindle Fire utility for rooting, which roots it easily without worry of bricking. But if you start messing around further like me, its very easy to screw up.

I hide my Kindle and iPhone when my son starts talking "gingerbread" and "icecream" not talking about what is in my kitchen either lol

And Jelly Bean and Key Lime Pie are in the pipelime. My new phone will be rocking Ice Cream Sandwhich.

They are operating system versions of Android. Google names every version after a desert or sweet. It's the same thing like Windows 98 > windows xp > windows 7.

The Kindle Fire runs a modified version of Gingerbread. The versions are in alphabetical order. So the later the better. Ice Cream Sandwhich is the best available version.
