[/quote]from what was reported not an awful lot, and its mainly backloaded, was essentially a 1 year deal, with a 2nd option if he does well, if not cut him with little cap hit

Haha well I was speaking solely from a speed standpoint, and I was impressed with Gorrer last season, sure he's not a number 1 or 2, but he's a very solid CB3 or 4. Meaning he's usually lined up against other teams 3rd or 4th receivers.

I could actually see Painter making the team. I doubt it, but it is possible. If he was on the roster, we could use Tyrod more. Last year, if he got injured, we had no one else. If Painter is there (which is scary), then Tyrod would likely see more time of the field since there's the other QB in the event of a catastrophe.

2 year, 6.5M dollar contract.

1.8M signing bonus and 700,000 2012 salary

3M 2013 salary + 1M roster bonus in 2013

Yeah, Pierce is a lock....we invested a 3rd round pick, he better be. Ray Rice is a lock....duh. Allen and Berry will be duking it out to make that lost spot, as I don't see us carrying 4RB's. Painter......I'd rather keep tyrod and flacco, and if by some act of the devil both got injured, let Boldin throw the rock.....but honestly lol.

That's pretty much because of what's invested/expected of him. I don't think it's a merit thing right now. He's going to see most of the 1st team snaps of any potential 3rd WR because he's the veteran. I just hope we don't waste snaps forcing him into the game (like we did with Evans) if he turns out to underperform, which I'm afraid of.

We wont (shouldnt) carry 3 QB's. And if we did, I dont think it has any affect on Tyrods playing time. Just my $.02...

I heard somewhere that they want to incorporate Tyrod more into wildcat-like packages. They didn't do it last year since there was no one behind him if he happened to get injured - what happens if Flacco goes down?. I personally don't want Painter on the team, but it is feasible. It's risky to carry 2 QBs. Last year, we had Bulger on standby if Flacco went down. Again, not saying it's going to happen, but it definitely could.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Players tend to get injured more easily from being overworked too soon.

Cutting Jones would put us in a worse salary cap position because the whole signing bonus would be absorbed.
