Potential O-Line Formation

22 posts in this topic

So with the addition of Osemele and the lost of Grubbs. What will the O-Line looks like in your opinion ?

COACH Harbaugh said it few times that Osemele will compete for the Right Tackle spot and the Left Guard spot. He also said they could move Oher back to LT.

So it made me think the Ravens aren't really happy with Mckinnie (maybe his training isnt too serious). I saw him last year having a difficult time against speed rusher coming off the edge (Barnes). But he was ok against more powerful rusher. Hes getting old, same for Birk.. Maybe lots of injuries coming to the O-Line. What will the O-Line look ?

Mckinnie - Reid/Osemele - Birk - Yanda - Oher
Oher - Reid/Osemele - Birk - Yanda - Reid/Osemele

In both formation, I don't like that. Slow, old... Ravens gotta get another O-Line for the season. Maybe Gurode ?

Gurode is old and slow too and wouldn't be an improvement to the o-line.

Ultimately I think our O-line will be: McKinnie - Osemele - Birk - Yanda - Oher

I like the idea of taking an OT today to add to the potential mix to replace McKinnie. Nate Potter would be a personal preference.

I really want it to be Oher, Osmele, Birk, Yanda, Reid. McKinnie was by far the worst lineman on the team last year playing at his natural position.

But its probably going to be McKinnie/Oher, Osmele/Reid, Birk/Boren, Yanda/Osmele, and Oher/Reid

McKinnie - Osemele - Birk - Yanda - Oher

I love it. Osemele will come in and be solid right away. He will provide a much more violent presence than Grubbs which will help us tremendously in the run game. One thing I didn't like about Grubbs is that he is not the best run blocker. Solid, yes, but he just doesn't have the aggressiveness to blow a guy off the line. I'm very excited about this pick.

From what I've seen Osemele is more powerful and quicker than Reid.
[/quote]I would say Def more powerful, quicker im not sure, Reid has good feet, Osemele needs to work on his a bit more. Hes built for guard but has great versatility.

Still think we need another 1 or 2 olinemen, i would love blake for center and nate potter with our comp picks. That would solve all our Oline issues. Great depth all round, great comp, a LT to take over for McKinnie in Potter, a center to take over Birk in blake, a new LG in Reid/Osemele and then great comp at RT with Oher/Reid/Osemele. Oher will either step up and go back to rookie form and get himself a new deal year after next or he will faulter, someone will get his spot and he could be a trade candidate this time next year.

Thats what i want from the next few picks, i wouldnt mind a WR with the early 4th, or else a Dlineman or Safety. Juron Criner, Jared Crick DE, Josh Chapman NT, Ronnell Lewis ILB/OLB/4-3 End/STer must be very near the top of their boards right now

I'd love to see the Ravens get Bobby Massie. He would provide depth at T position and would have the season to develop himself. Potter would be a nice pick up too

I'd try Jah at LT before Oher. Oher doesn't play their well. The reason Harbs mentioned who will compete for what positions is he wants an open competition at camp where everyone is improving. Don't get a new guy and say he could be the new RT without saying your current RT might be competing for another position as well

I can see Oher playing next to Osemele at LT and Reid at right by Yanda. I hope Oher can get it done. If not he may be playing his way out... like it has been said Osemele has a mean streak and that could help with Oher and Birk. Yanda is the perfect player for a rookie to play by so move Reid by him and Oher has potential maybe he will finally catch onto it.

Our o line will be powerful with Mckinnie-Osemele-Birk-Yanda-Oher with a potential of Jah Reid ability playing many positions is going to be a good o line next year.

Im very eager to see Osemele plugged in at guard. Hopefully he will bring that aggressiveness that Grubbs didnt bring, particularly in the running game.

Line will be: McKinney - Osemele - Birk - Yanda - Oher. Gradkowski and Reid will go some relief work at G/C and RT, respectively. Unless they cut McKinney (unlikely since they already paid him his roster bonus or whatever that was), in which case I see Oher (shudder) - Osemele - Birk - Yanda - Reid.

Was Gradkowski early? Yeah, maybe, but all the analysts seem high on the pick, and I am too. He's a high character guy with an impeccable work ethic from what I understand.

Was William Vlachos drafted? I have a feeling we will pursue him if he went undrafted.
