Courtney Upshaw--Speak On Him

i got chills when i heard Stover call out his name, i really really like the pick as you can tell, it adds youth, and a fierce fast and furious power into one of the NFL's best defenses, aiming to complement Sizzle on the opposite side, i really think this guy can be the guy whose talent's will shine brightly.

excellent excellent excellent.

Skip Bayless said this morning that he liked him actually better than Hightower. I like this pick...I was like YESSS when Stover announced him..

Will probably be whistling a different tune tomorrow morning. Anyway great pick.

I know Upshaw is mad that he wasnt drafted in the first. Add that plus our players/coaches plus his gifted skill set, and we got a future star.

I'll say, after watching a few clips (not highlights) that he is a monster. He is also nowhere near as "tight" and "slow" as many have claimed him to be. He looks pretty quick to me, especially for being 270...

It's funny how we wait until Suggs closes in on his 30th bday before we finally put some pass rushers opposite him.

How does Upshaw fit in with Kruger?

Im done with Kruger. He had his 3 years, and only last year we saw him show up in few games.

Upshaw is the new future. He is a top 20 talent. His going to be a BEAST!!!

Where can I pre-order Upshaw's Jersey?
I'm sure they are making them somewhere right now.

Just like Sizzle did? Only the big games?

after being in a logjam at OLB? Behind JJ and Suggs?

And after being used at a position he shouldn't have been?

Come on now! Think, my friend.

Though, Upshaw will give Kruger a run for his money. That is certain. A 50/50 rotation could be beneficial for them both.

Well I'm going to get one, whether I have to pre-order it online or wait for it to hit retail stores.

I can almost see it. We are going to be the most scariest Pass Rush presence in NFL.

Suggs,Ngata, Mcphee, Upshaw, McClain. wow just WOW! :190048:

Hes a Lamarr woodley type player. Big body, strong against the run probably more than JJ, and can get some sacks with his power and being relentless.

Ive been hearing a lot James Harrison comparisons.

nah.. Upshaw is a complete proffessional. Never makes dirty plays, always making smart moves.

Outside of football...you'll never see Upshaw make a fuss on twitter and diss his own team in ESPNmag like Harrison do ...lol

Yet neither of them could outplay JJ and get a start.

Come to think of it how do we use Kindle if he emerges as a pass rush threat? Suggs, Kruger, Kindle, Upshaw, where do they fit? this is a good problem to have but I can imagine that Upshaw would have preferred going somewhere he could just start.

Edit: Is Kruger in his final contract year?

I'm ecstatic about this dude. He will become a great player. Defensive rookie of the year, just like Suggs, that would be awesome.

i believe so. If he has a great year, good for him. Like you said, it is a good problem to have, and you can never have enough pass rusher. Keep that high motor going to pressure the QB!

I thought he was the best defensive player from Bama besides Barron. Love Bama and i love this kid. So disappointing when we didn't take him last night. The best thing about this pick is regardless of if he has his hand in the dirt or is the Sam or Rush backer, he's versatile and he fits our scheme perfectly Sizzle and Ray ray must be stoked!!
Hey, we picked him in the 2nd rd and pick up a 4th rd pick plus he will be getting a 2nd rd contract! Winning!
