What Our 2012 Opponents Got From The 1St Round...

1 post in this topic

Steelers:
David DeCastro
- Getting the best rated guard just by sitting back should give a solid foundation at O-line along with Maurkice Pouncey and give Roethlisberger time in the pocket against our front seven.

Bengals:
Dre Kirkpatrick
- "Swagger" as he is called should give insurance and stability in their secondary. Also, can't go wrong with Alabama players as he will be groomed as their future starting CB against Torrey Smith.

Kevin Zeitler
- Zeitler should bring that mean Wisconsin toughness in their O-line against our front seven.

Browns:
Trent Richardson
- This so-called top player in the 2012 is no pushover because he excelled in the tough battle-harden SEC. He should give that franchise some hope like Adrian Peterson did for the Vikings. However, AFC North is no joke as it houses four top ten defenses, including the Browns themselves.

Brandon Weeden
- The Browns decided not to gamble on missing out on their QB for the future, who was picked a little earlier than expected. He does seem to have a better skill set than the current incumbent Colt McCoy. However, the Browns need more weapons and protections for their newly appointed QB to survive in the battlegrounds of AFC North.

Patriots:
Chandler Jones
- Well, our bitter playoff rival got a Jones, a family of rough and tough warriors. His bloodline along with his relentless motor could make him one of the better pass rushers from this draft. Our O-line is going to get their hands full against this Jones.

Dont'a Hightower
- A player that would've fit very nicely in our defense goes to a team that needs all the help on defense. This workhorse LB should be all over the field making plays. Belichick is not messing around as he traded up to make sure he get Pro-Bowl level defenders on his defense.

Texans:
Whitney Mercilus
- What's with these teams hoarding pass rushers. Already having a strong D-line with couple solid pass rushers in Connor Barwin, Brooks Reed, and J.J. Watts, the Texans decide to add one of the most explosive and leading sack artist in college to make a relentless and devastating front seven. I hope we have enough players on the O-line to combat them or Flacco is going to be running for his life in Houston.

Redskins:
Robert Griffin III
- The Redskins now have their Savior and Franchise QB, but still a long way from being a playoff regular. However, moves like these can sure turn franchise around in a hurry like the Falcons with Matt Ryan. Should be interesting year for RGIII as he has a brutal schedule against a lot of contenders.

Cowboys:
Morris Claiborne
- Well the Cowboys didn't give up much to land a top 5 prospect. Claiborne along with Carr will make it tough for Flacco and the offense to score points. Like playing against Revis and the Jets, our WRs are going to be blanketed all day. In games like these, Ray Rice and TEs are going to see a lot of targets. The Cowboys are not messing around by adding a lot of key components to make their defense relevant again.

Eagles:
Fletcher Cox
- With an already stacked D-line, the Eagles add a key piece to their wide nine scheme. With Babin and Cole manning the outside. Cox along with Jenkins should wreck havoc. Ravens fans only hope that we have a good enough O-line to slow these mad D-lines or the battles of the trenches are going to be ugly in 2012.

Giants:
David Wilson
- The Defending Champions boast a explosive passing game and a wrecking crew at D-line. To make them even more tough to fight against is adding an explosive playmaking RB. Wilson is going to get a lot of carries so the Giants can play the possession game. With all these WRs, adding Wilson will make our defense have their hands full. Also, their pass rusher will battle all day against O-line.

Chargers:
Melvin Ingram
- The Chargers believe they landed a top 10 pass rusher in Ingram. I remember the last time we were in San Diego, our O-line was struggling to contain Antwan Barnes and other pass rushers. Now reloaded with Ingram, along with hot hand Barnes and our former player Jarret Johnson, our O-line is going to get their hands full against this team too. Also, Rivers with any WRs is still a dangerous offense.

Broncos:
- I assume the Broncos are moving back so they can get the right value for Jerel Worthy, Kendall Reyes, or Devon Stills, which are still impact DTs. the Broncos still have a formidable pass rush with Von Miller and Elvis Dumervil, so adding one of those DTs should complete a new Orange Crush. This revamped defense along with Peyton Manning is going to make life tough for the Ravens.

Raiders:
- We got some hope as the Raiders decided to skip this draft, which could set them back.

As most of us know, it is the 1st round where teams find their impact players. Now what our opponents got as their impact players, I think we're going to need a lot of help on the O-line. Flacco is in for another rough year as he's going to be pressured all day.

With those 2nd rounders, I believe Ozzie is going to get some beef and talent on our O-line. Maybe two!
