If you ask me, they are remastering the wrong game of course. VII or VIII would have been awesome in HD for the PS3

The problem with remastering the games below X is, they're gonna look awful in HD, unless you have endless time and money to throw after the games and almost remake them instead.

I would love a new VI and VII, but not HD remaster.

It was the first I heard of it lol. I don't think there would be a problem dedicating the time and money into modernizing what most would call the greatest RPG ever

That's mildly interesting, but since I still have a working copy of the ps2 version I can't imagine that I will shell out any amount of money for a remake.

SquareEnix is literally sitting on a gold mine with 7 and probably at least a silver one with 8. I don't get why they insist on denying themselves and their customers.

Every time they're asked about remaking them they say "Too time consuming" or "Too expensive".

They need to stop churning out their new crap that less and less people buy every year and concentrate on what would likely be game of the year - at least. Every Final Fantasy since X (in my opinion) has been awful. Quit making new games with average story lines and below average game play and bring back one of the best games ever.

FFXIII has almost sold as much as many's favorite, X.

The thing with remaking VII is that it has to built from scratch. Nothing from the original one can be re-used, except for the story of course .P That is a lot of work, especially with the huge world it is. And most of the team that made VII is gone, most importantly Hironobu Sakaguchi.

Obviously the game [i]should [/i]sell quite well, but it's a gamble.

Not to mention that the game most likely wouldn't be able to live up to what people remember of the original.

I'd still love it though

Almost all of the risks you mentioned coud be applied to the ''games'' they churn out now. All games take time and money to produce; spend it on what peope have been clamoring for.

Sure it's possible that it might not sell as well as hoped, but they didn't have a problem taking that risk with the straight-line game or the (upcoming) emo mafia thing.

If they are just going to rehash the same old stuff (and we all know that Vaan was Tidus and Vayne was another of the long haired pretty boy villians) they coud at least rehash what we want... But they need to hurry up and get it done. Those of us who ejoyed that game back in the day aren't getting any younger.

Konami is the same with Suikoden 2. That is the best game in the world. Sells for 140 bucks on Ebay...used.Suikoden is a good game as well, and you can get that on PSN market. If you like final fantasy or Chrono series, Get Suikoden.

Whenever we get to talking Suikoden II, I swear sometimes that I could've been your wimpy little brother in another life. We just love that game and that series so damn much, it's frightening. lol.

LMAO It's the greatest series. Even 4 was alright! We need a 6! It's so underrated but whenever you ask someone "have you played suikoden?" if it's a yes its always positive. No one ever says that it sucks or anything like that. I have all my copies even though my PS3 doesn't playback lol guess ill buy a ps2 sometime.
