NFL Top 100

Joe Flacco could lead a game winning drive in the Super Bowl, he could become the Super Bowl MVP and somehow Joe would still not get any respect. It would all go back to the Ravens defense regardless of how good Joe played. Hell, Matt Ryan would still be ranked higher than Joe on a Top 100 list the year after Joe did that all and won the Super Bowl.

You know what's funny about the whole Ravens defense excuse? Pittsburgh had the #1 D but the Ravens topped them in wins and head-to-head victories. I guess Joe should be ranked higher than Roethlisberger.

In 2008 the Steelers had the #1 D. In 2009 New Orleans' D was #1 in turnovers. In 2010 the Packers were top 3 in defense. In 2011 the Giants were #1 in sacks. But Joe is the only QB whose defense wins games for him.

Try seeing how well Brees and Brady do without the best O-lines in the game. Take Jennings away from Rodgers and he loses to Kansas City. Let's see Eli Manning without Victor Cruz (oh wait, that was every year before 2011, and he was in the same boat Flacco was before Cruz saw the field).

Joe will get more respect this season if he can back-up his talk of "being the best". Without Suggs, national media will expect our defense to falter and think we will have to rely more on our offense. If Joe does have a big year like a lot of us are expecting I think we will begin to see him get more and more respect.
well that either means Webb and yanda or both not on. Or else leach isn't on it, which means John Kuhn is ahead of him and he drops off it after his move to bmore from Texas.

Webb is definitely on the list. Yanda, maybe not.
Then again, I could have sworn Flacco wouldn't be on the list either. lol

You were right man, but I still think that one of the three of Webb/Yanda/Leach who are going to miss out are better at their respective positions.

Funny how everyone still believes that the Ravens defense is still winning games for us. I find it funny how Elvis Grbac, Kyle Boller, and Steve McNair all had the Ravens defense but don't have the rings to show for the defense winning them games. Is it a coincidence that the Ravens make the playoffs 4 straight years when we finally have a Quarterback to go along with the defense.

Ray and Ed are the excuse when Joe wins. Then when prediction season comes, suddenly Ray and Ed are too old and the defense sucks.

Where do you think Torrey Smith will be? I think he deserves a spot.
Considering AJ Green came in at #77, Torrey won't make the list.

Joe. Rice, Ray and Ed wouldn't be this low and neither would Suggs or Boldin. Though I can see it being Boldin but if Joe isn't revealed, I'm guessing he's higher or not on the list.
i actually think you might be right on that last part lol ;)

Man If Flacco is on there Schaub should also. If he isn't that is criminal.
It's based on last year alone isnt it?

Schaub puts up good stats, but he has never won anything. Besides he only played half a season and got out-played by Flacco in their one head to head.

Peyton Manning was listed at Number 50 and he didn't even play!
Tim Tebow and John Kuhn... Tebow and Kuhn lol

You knew the Peytrain had to be on there

Peyton's position is obviously a result of half the players thinking he doesn't belong on the list after not playing and the other half putting him in the top 2. 50 doesn't make sense. Since the list is for 2012 I don't see how you leave possibly the best player of all time off the list.

You can't put Manning on this list when he didn't play. This cheapens the entire rankings system, well that and the fact that Tebow was on there. I understood the Manning for MVP argument. His team went from Super Bowl contender to worst in the league without him, but you can't rank him as a player for a year he didn't play.

It's the best players going in to the 2012 season, I see no issue at all with Manning being on the list. The best players are the best players, whether they played or not.

Well, the title says Top 100 Players of 2012. I always assumed it was the best players going into the next season.
