Ravens Are Hosting Boller For A Workout

116 posts in this topic

May as well find out about Chris Redman's availability, as well as Coach Jim Fassell as OC.... and then bring in Grbac and Wes Pate in for competition too!! Heck, lets just sign our boy, Troy Smith back to a record deal!

Curtis Painter is also brought in Ravens facility. You heard that right. Our GM/FO are officially QB homers

YOU CAN NOT BE SERIOUS!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS THINKING? To even have this guy at the facility trying out is a disgrace and a slap in the face to us as fans! I and I'm sure most of the Ravens nation have held Ozzie and his staff in the highest regard in terms of evaluating talent. And to date most of the blame for the Boller debacle was thought to have been on coach Billick...but clearly we may have been mistaken on both parts. Check the freaking film guys! Did you see how inept he was in Oakland and St. Louis?! He is terrible. What does this say about us being serious about making a Super Bowl run? I am absolutely disgusted as a fan right now.

Your telling me we have the best Quarterback in the NFL and we need to bring Boller in for a workout? Hell we don't even need Tyrod since Joe is the best QB in the NFL, he can start and back himself up.

Probably has nothing to do with Joe.. they just wanna push Tyrod and get competition for him in camp
of course it has nothing to do with joe!! They are trying to work out a long term contract for a superbowl contending QB, why would they bring in someone to replace him who cant even contend to win a pre-season game lol

Where are all the "in Ozzie we trust" heralds?

This is for the back up job to push tyrod and Dixon is involved as well. I think it's genius. A. He is familiar with the franchise and coaching staff. B. He would come cheap C. When Flacco shows inconsistency or has a bad game no one will be saying " put Kyle in" or 20000 threads about our back up qb being better.

Interesting fact: boller only knows 3 people on
this offense playerwise. Flacco, Yanda and Rice

last year Bulger promised to come back to play if Joe got injured and we needed him, so we had three QBs available even if not all of them on the roster; now after a year on the sidelines, retired, Bulger doesn't present any more interest for us, so we need a third arm... just in case we got too many WRs at camp or something like that

Kyle Boller wasn't terrible, he surely wasn't good, but he'd be a decent backup to give us a respectable season if Flacco went down.

Man, I am so ordering a Boller jersey if he ends up on the team just to see the look on my faces of my friends on Sundays.

Yes!!!! I'm a Boller 4life!

Not a half bad option for a backup. Tyrod should be the primary backup and get the first shot. But Boller isn't half bad as a bandaid option. I've got nothing against it. He probably won't make it to the season anyways, we rarely carry more than 2 QBs.

I still wonder if Kyle Boller would have made it in Cam's system if he didn't get hurt.

Yeah doesn't make sense for Curtis to come here at all. Tyrod Taylor is even better than Painter and Boller is too, he can go backup Manning in Denver if he wants.

Were you a fan during the Boller era? Boller comes back and has to play and there goes any shot at the conference title game.

*shudder of horror*

I'd rather us take a flyer on Case Keenum or somebody as a late round pick than bring in Boller, Dixon, or Painter.

Great Oden's raven!

This is like the Bengals bringing back Akili Smith to compete for a backup spot.

Funny thing about this, I took my two Boller Jerseys that I got at discount of $10 each, took duct tape and covered up Boller, and took a magic marker and wrote Cundiff on the name plate lol.

Half and half.

I have no problems with Boller as a 3rd option. He knows his place (as a backup - wouldn't pull a Troy Smith), he'll be cheap and has experience. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be happy at all if he had to go into a game. I wouldn't have ANY faith. But that would be assuming that the two guys before him went down.

But I have no problem with the option, either does the Ravens FO apparently.

I don't understand the overreaction... He is a 3rd string candidate. He at least took us to the playoffs, and our offense was 4th in the AFC in scoring his rookie year. I know he's not good but come on he's a 3rd string candidate, cut him some slack!

He'll lose game for us 100%. What is the POINT? If a QB falls down and we need to win game, we cant trust him. He'll provide NOTHING for taylor/flacco as learning experience.

He is the worst of the worst. His career shouldve been done in year 1.

I have no idea how this guy is in NFL for so long, its absolutely ridiculous how he even have the GUTS to get back in B-more to try out as a QB.

Interesting thought, considering he went to the playoffs as a starter his rookie year and just missed his second year. Let's not be hypocritical, people... We give Joe Flacco credit for winning games, but Boller was able to win some early in his career too. If any of you have the nerve to say "It was because of the defense," I hope you aren't the same ones crediting Flacco for all of his wins as well. And for the record, I am a Flacco fan.

Damn people! Reading this thread makes me think the world just ended. CALM DOWN PEOPLE! Y'all are overreacting something fierce.

Firstly, just a workout... Really?

Secondly, at most a camp body to compete with and push Tyrod.

Thirdly, don't question our FO. If Harbs and Ozzie think that Boller could drive Tyrod to do better than so be it. Boller will only hurt us if he gets on the field in a game.

This is not the end of the world, at all. Stop acting like it. Be reasonable. At most, he'd be third string, or cut after camp. And that is the maximum potential out of this workout. And thats all this was. It was just a workout. Everybody stop flippin' out, and calm down!

Just trying to be the voice of reason fellas...
