Steeler Santonio Holmes Was A Bad Boy

22 posts in this topic

PITTSBURGH -- Police cited Steelers receiver Santonio Holmes on charges of marijuana possession Thursday afternoon.

Pittsburgh police said Holmes was driving a SUV with out-of-state license plates near Mellon Arena. The vehicle matched the description of one linked to a crime, so officers made an investigatory stop.

Don't be surprised if he's not in a Steelers uniform next year. 1st round or not, the Rooney's don't put up with this crap. He's an idiot.

Whatever. I bet if the charges are dropped, he'll be there until his contract expires. They are like any other team, they want to win. They'll get rid of a non starter for being charged and not convicted but they wont do it with a starter. See James Harrison.

This isn't Santonio's first brush with the law. I don't think they'll just cut him (at least I hope not), but I can see them seeking a trade.

The arrest alone, no. It depends on the outcome: Guilty in court = Yes.
And yet the NFL & the media are saying BR is full of "thugs"? because we make one stupid JOKING statement?
Perhaps you should tell Suggs to choose his words more wisely. I don't care if Suggs is joking or not but if you go on a radio show and you go along with it saying that there was a "bounty" on two players and ONE OF THEM suffered a season-ending injury during the game then you're going to be investigated, period. I highly doubt anything will come of it because it'd be next to impossible to prove anything but Suggs opened this can of worms HIMSELF.

As far as the "thugs" label welcome to the new NFL, every single team is on the verge of being labeled "thugs" due to how a fair amount of NFL players act nowadays.

Just heard that Tomlin deactivated him for Sunday's game. If we want to win that one, I think we want him on the field. But, as I said, Morals seem to actually be a priority in that organization.

How the heck would you come to that conclusion???? That's not a rule.

Initiative and morals.

The Steelers had a pretty effective pounder of a HB in Bam Morris (Pre-Ravens). He was Bettis before Bettis in Pittsburgh. They cut him for this crap right after going to a Super Bowl. Again, the Rooneys don't tolerate this garbage.

Sorry my friend, there's not really a way to put a negative spin on their reaction to Holmes. You should be happy that at least someone in the NFL actually does it.

Smart move not wasting any time and doing it.

Never thought I'd be glad to see a Browns fan.

Yes, and you and I will agree on the reasons why. Tomlin told him not to come anywhere near them until Monday. He's a distraction and they need to focus on the task at hand. I like him more and more every week.

You do know that the NFL is now fining teams that have "repeat offenders", right? Makes perfect sense to me. Its the same reason the Chiefs have been keeping LJ on the sideline in anticapation of his possible suspension.

And we are talking about Steelers buddy. Its not possible to not be able to put a negative spin on it.

I know that it is up for discussion in the future. I don't believe it's in effect yet.

I don't think so, I wonder why we have not heard of the Bengals getting fined since they are not exactly choir boys. Here is an article on the Cowboys situation Jerry's money

doesnt it seem like these football players are losing their minds. you get paid millions and your rolling around fighting, getting high or drunk to the point you were your a danger to yourself and others. i wonder if the money really goes to the places that they say it does and they dont just give to someone whos already paid

They havent had any incidents so far this season. Its not really fair to get fined, so long after the fact.

I don't think fining the players is going to reduce the illegal hits, or whatever. The only thing it's reducing is the NFL's player's pocket change.
