For those of you who don't know, the RMS Titanic (White Starr Line), captain Edward Smith set sail in April, 1912 from Britain, the last stop of the first voyage New York, USA. She was labeled unsinkable. But, on the night of April 14-15, 1912, she hit an iceburg and sank. The officers were critisized for lack of care and lifeboats. Also, many of the 3rd and 2nd class people often died,as well as one first class child and plenty of officers. The Carpathia, unlike the Californian, responded and picked up those in lifeboats.

In 1986, Robert Ballard uncovered the ruins in the North Atlantic Ocean. In 1997, James Cameron directed an expensive (but popular) movie with some added fiction (I'm watching that now). Seline Deon even added a song dedicated to the ship, "My Heart Will Go On." Tonight, on April 14, 2012, we commemorate the 100th anniversery of that disastor. I actually have a commemorative coin. Please post anything related to the Titanic here.

"We are prepared to go down as gentlemen."- John Jacob Aster
