So I voted Kruger. He is definitely a solid pass-rusher but he needs to prove he can be more than that. I think he will do well.

dont like your options, and this should have been after the draft, their is a couple rookies could start
These are the only options as of now. I don't consider Jimmy Smith or Pitta to be options because they had a lot more playing time last year, especially late and Art Jones isn't projected to start. Yeah, I should have made this after the draft but it is too far away lol

if it were me i wouldn't add them on the list just because of harbs saying he'll bring in a runningback and with doss, no because he will be in harbs and camerons doghouse this year. even rotating him in with boldin would be nice for him to gain experience and get some catches but their answer would probably be a straight no cuz thats how they are. They both have a bright future though. It would be nice to include Anthony Allen & Tandon Doss.

McPhee was a run stopper at State and when drafted was only seen as a sub-package player in running situations. The pass rush ability sort of came out of nowhere. Pernell is an every down player without a doubt.I don't think McPhee will start, more likely Jones starts and McPhee rotates in especially on passing downs.
So I voted Kruger. He is definitely a solid pass-rusher but he needs to prove he can be more than that. I think he will do well.

It seemed like Kruger and McPhee were both getting to the passer. The two of them went gangbusters on the right side of the line in pass rush situations. They could work GREAT together as starters. They've had a year of great chemistry in game-type situations. The acclimation period could be shorter than we all think!I have to say McPhee he's a monster, and for not even starting and getting six sacks, the stats don't lie in my opinion. Anyone remember that sack in the Bengals game that sealed the win? I do. However it does sound like Kruger and Reid have some promise. Reid was moved all over the O-line in practice and he is HUGE. I think if we give him an offseason he'll work for that Guard spot. Kruger also has a lot of potential and he obviously is a favorite of Harbs. But when it comes down to it, it has to be McPhear, then Kruger, and then Reid.

McPhee can stop the run.Kruger gives us a pass rush opposite Suggs, it's the run stopping I'm concerned about.

I think Harbaugh was saying if Rice held out then he would bring in a vet RB. I don't think he was saying definitively regardless of what happens they will get one. With Harbaugh you have to take whatever he says with a grain of salt. I don't buy into much of what he says.if it were me i wouldn't add them on the list just because of harbs saying he'll bring in a runningback and with doss, no because he will be in harbs and camerons doghouse this year. even rotating him in with boldin would be nice for him to gain experience and get some catches but their answer would probably be a straight no cuz thats how they are. Regarding Doss, I think we could very well see him as our #3 WR this year. He is my player-to-watch for the Ravens.
For the record, I voted for McPhee. As the other guy said, I remembered reading McPhee was good against the run but there were questions about his pass-rush. I remember us being impressed by his sack numbers when he was at community college but when his numbers dipped when he transferred people were worried. He played the run more when he transferred, if I recall correctly.

if you don't think so, who will? jones? hes not starter quality to me. solid backup? yes. starter? no.
I could see us DRAFTING someone before the 3rd round to play DE (upshaw, etc) but i'm assuming thats what you mean, right? if you're going by the roster, mcphee is the likely choice since Kruger is going to be OLB.
I think art Jones is really gonna turn some heads this year

I agree, I think Jones will start unless McPhee puts on weight. Jones has more time in the 5 technique and is a naturally better run stuffer. I feel good about those two, they'll help us win games definitely.
Officially.
