Assuming all 3 start (there still may be some doubts on Reid), which player would you be the most comfortable with starting full-time?

Kruger. Harb's has praised him ever since JJ left and i feel just the same. If Kruger can just be half way decent at the run to go along with his already impressive pass rush abilities, he will be a star in Bmore. I'm predicting an 8+ sack year for Kruger and an even better year for Suggs (17+).

I gotta go with McPhee, he was a stud this year. Kruger will cause nightmares, mabey an eight sack year, but McPhee will preform better and stop the run. I think Reid will be avarage, mabey top 15 guar at best this year. He has a bright future

At the moment, McPhee hands down. Guy has a motor that doesn't stop and he's an excellent pass rusher who will start to command more attention. I'm just not sure if Kruger is really an every down player, and we don't know what we have with Reid at guard, though I expect him to pick up the slack. This would be a good thread to keep alive for later in the offseason.

I came in thinking there were more choices in which case I was going to say Leach, but I will go with McPhee. He seems like he is just a natural and though Kruger played well I see the Mcpheenom having a dominant season. He played well against the run and excellent versus the pass. With an off season to prepare I see nothing but good things, especially with the way our d line is set up. You can't double Suggs and Ngata with Mount Cody and Mcphee on the other side. Regardless, I see both Pernell and Pauls numbers increasing with a healthy Ngata returning and full off season. Another thing is if we stay as aggressive as we were with Pags. I could easily see the sack number increasing cause we have the personnel to beat the one on one matchups.

When Kruger was playing last year he came into a few games and made some crucial plays i believe that he will feel in J.J. shoes without missing a step..

even with a new DC, our pass rush will still be absolutely amazing this year with Kruger and McPhee most likely taking starter roles barring any highly selected draft picks. But will our run game hold up? I'll say yes.

I think it could take a small hit early but come around by week 5. I could also maybe see Art Jones starting for that reason but McPhee coming around later on though I want McPhee starting. Similar to how it took a while for players to adapt to lame man Mattisons scheme. I really hope Peas just let's em hunt.

I still hold out hope that we will find a veteran guard out there to give Reid a run for his money.

if you don't think so, who will? jones? hes not starter quality to me. solid backup? yes. starter? no.

I could see us DRAFTING someone before the 3rd round to play DE (upshaw, etc) but i'm assuming thats what you mean, right? if you're going by the roster, mcphee is the likely choice since Kruger is going to be OLB.

You could say the same thing will pollard a little bit (i know he was a FA and not a draft pick but it still applies) because he had some trouble in pass coverage at houston but once he got adjusted, he really came on strong after the first 5-6 games. i see the same type of improvement from mcphee and the run game. but yes, jones can come in for the extra run support when needed. yeah, i dont even mention Mattison in Bmore at this point. Totally misused our defense more than cam is on offense. i'm a huge michigan fan and i'm glad to see how he turned around the D there but in a Raven style defense it never worked and never will work. we are pressure based and even in 2011, when we didn't get pressure, games like San Diego happen.

You might want to add Pitta, Art Jones, and Jimmy Smith to this list, because they may be starters next year as well. Right now Kruger is the clear winner. He's going to do great. Like JJ with a pass rush.

If we add them, I vote this guy. It's like Sizzle said "The white tight end - don't leave home without him."

McPhee was the most efficient pass rushing DT in the league last year. I think Kruger will be an absolute stud as well, but McPhee has a slight edge at the moment. If they can be effective against the run, they'll both be amazing.

just like we have stockloaded the CBs and weeded out all the bad CB's, we are going to have alot of competition on DE/DT. Sack 2012!!

I gotta go with Kruger. He has actually proven himself to be a somewhat proven, consistent player. McPhee could do the same, but I'd like to see more consistency. Harbaugh seems really optimistic about Kruger too. He also seems very optimistic about Jah Reid too. I'm excited for all of them really. After watching some more of Jah's college videos, reading old scouting reports, and hearing Harbaugh's comments, I'm very eager to see how he could do. It seems like he could be a great guard, and possibly even be an improvement over Grubbs, as far as the run game goes. But Kruger has the highest possibility of succeed. I'm so eager!

I think McPhee is going to be the best one out of them all, Jah Reid will develop in time as a solid OT...and Kruger is a decent pass rusher at this point but I'm not sure about how strong he is against the run...we shall see but right now..McPhee

I think Kruger will do the most. I think McPhee and Art Jones will be rotating a lot so you couldn't really crown one a "starter" (much like Dickson and Pitta toward the end of last season).

I'm not comfortable with the idea of Reid starting LG yet. We really need to bolster the offensive line in the draft.

I have to say McPhee he's a monster, and for not even starting and getting six sacks, the stats don't lie in my opinion. Anyone remember that sack in the Bengals game that sealed the win? I do. However it does sound like Kruger and Reid have some promise. Reid was moved all over the O-line in practice and he is HUGE. I think if we give him an offseason he'll work for that Guard spot. Kruger also has a lot of potential and he obviously is a favorite of Harbs. But when it comes down to it, it has to be McPhear, then Kruger, and then Reid.

I don't think McPhee will start, more likely Jones starts and McPhee rotates in especially on passing downs.

So I voted Kruger. He is definitely a solid pass-rusher but he needs to prove he can be more than that. I think he will do well.

dont like your options, and this should have been after the draft, their is a couple rookies could start
These are the only options as of now. I don't consider Jimmy Smith or Pitta to be options because they had a lot more playing time last year, especially late and Art Jones isn't projected to start. Yeah, I should have made this after the draft but it is too far away lol

It would be nice to include Anthony Allen & Tandon Doss.
if it were me i wouldn't add them on the list just because of harbs saying he'll bring in a runningback and with doss, no because he will be in harbs and camerons doghouse this year. even rotating him in with boldin would be nice for him to gain experience and get some catches but their answer would probably be a straight no cuz thats how they are. They both have a bright future though.

Kruger and McPhee were both ultra productive in their packages. Here's to hoping this new coordinator utilizes them correctly. Mattison set Kruger back two years in his development.
