I think someone more deserving should get on the Madden cover.
I would like to see Roethlisberger on the cover.

Everyone vote for Ray as madden cover. We took the 2000 ravens to the finales for best team ever so we can take Ray to the cover. P.S. He would look pretty sweet on the cover
NO, no one vote for Ray Rice unless you want our best offensive player plagued by the Madden curse.

Oh My God, NO! I don't care what anyone says, the Madden Curse is real and I don't want it harming another Raven ever again. Ray Lewis felt its sting before and I want Rice away from it!

Why are fans voting for Rice? It better be fans of other teams, because it would be irresponsible for Ravens fans to keep voting for him.

Vote for Rodgers!!

No curse? It has pretty much hit everyone one way or another since it started it 1999...

I voted for Drew Brees!
Could you image? Brees gets on the cover again, gets injured, and then the saints would DEF be screwed. Talk about getting what they deserve.....

Im not the type to wish injury on people though...

Ok I am sorry every one who is saying no because of the "curse" its my opinion and you can do whatever. You don't need to repeat the same thing for 4 pages

I don't think there's anything superstitious about seeing 14 cover guys from 14 covers have dips in production, often accompanied by injures, and thinking maybe going onto the cover might not be a good business decision. I'm not saying it should be explained simply as 'a curse', but if you were doing a scientific experiment and your hypothesis is accurate 100% of the time, you're on to something.

No, you're not.

I know the difference, but you look for causation when you see correlation. You don't just say, 'hey, those things always happen together! What a coinky-dink' unless you're a simpleton.

I am sorry that I posted it on two sections I first put it on madden but then I thought no one would see it.

The curse is real and its extra strong this year it being... 13 the unlucky number. Combine that with its a rb and that rb is in his franchise year, I'm petrified of what might happen. Look at the past backs who have been on the cover and tell me what happened to their careers after. I get where you're coming from though and it would be nice to see a Raven on the cover but the curse even took out the man who once said "you can't hurt this, I'm a machine jerk". Truth is you have the Madden curse, number 13, a rb, big contract coming up, suspect o line and Cam Cameron calling plays in the most physical division and I'm worried.

As the number of pirates roaming the seven seas has decreased over the past 2-300 years, the temperature of the Earth has increased.

Obviously the lack of pirates is causing global warming.

Being on the cover of a video game is completely unrelated to being injured in a sporting event. You can believe in a "curse" all you want but you're not automatically "on to something." There are exceptions to the Madden curse, its a fun superstition to joke about but..yeah. There's no controlled experiment going on here, nor is there any proof.

I guess it COULD just be bad karma for, you know, supporting EA (officially the worst company in America!) and making a terrible football video game, in addition to helping drive the entire gaming industry in the ground.

Or it could be nothing.

There really aren't any exceptions, though, barring Fitzgerald who was on the cover with Polamalu who played 5 games and he was pretty terrible in them.

Also that example's slightly different in that I can't imagine for each degree the climate heated, x amount of pirates stopped being pirates (this got off topic...), but I certainly see what you are saying, and I did say I wouldn't label it a 'curse'. Maybe other players go after them out of jealousy or maybe it's a become sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy, or maybe it is just a wild coincidence, but why take the chance and vote for Ray when the cover guy gets injured/ underperforms at such a ridiculous frequency.

I knew Gore had no idea what he was talking g about. I still believe 2k would have put EA out of business if they didn't sell their soul.

Examples exactly the same. Pretty sure you can relate it to all manner of other things too, like the amount of territory the British Empire controls, or the number of people with Asian descent living west of the prime meridian. Point is: its all irrelevant.

Tons of players get injured and/or underpreform every year. I could have told you Hillis was going to suck this year whether or not he made the cover, and making it certainly wouldn't have changed Rogers' season.

Want a scenario? Rice makes the cover AND holds out. Gets hurt in preseason because he skipped most of camp and showed up in worse shape then normal. Gets hurt in preseason.

OMG MADDEN CURSE RIGHT.

It will be The Curse that makes him hold out, so yes, it would be The Curse (formerly uncapitalized now capitalized to express its significance). The Curse could even trickle to other players because they block for Rice, such as Leach, Oher, Birk, Yanda, whoever plays LG, and McKinnie. We could have a serious problem on our hands!
