The chipmunk could claw, gauge, throttle or bite the snake. Same logic applies to the skink/blue jay matchup.

Assuming the chipmunk didn't try to flee, it would win. A garter snake wouldn't be strong enough to strangle or bite to death the squirrel. Chipmunks are slinkly and could use their arms, feet and teeth to great effect.

Have you ever held one? They bite so softly it doesnt even leave a mark. On top of that, they are half the size of a chipmunk.

Yes I have many times. If it was a pregnant snake it would have no chance. Anyway I got the garter upsetting the chipmunk. There bite would be deadly for a chipmunk then a human.

I worked at a boy scout camp lol and I taught the reptiles and amphibian merit badge and mammal study merit badge. We always has a new garter every week. Some of them are pretty nasty.
