Definitely the best one ever. I remember I could lay a perfect hit stick at any given chance! It was basically all I did in my down time in Iraq 2005-2006

Thanks for your support. I remember when I got back to Kuwait with my main unit, we would have Madden tournaments all day long. There was this officer that would take the Bengals and hot route Ocho and Housh to run the 9 route and he would kill everyone. He couldnt be beaten. I was just a beginner at the time. Our rules were to play on All Madden with no QB vision. Anyways, I had my struggles learning how to play on all madden. So I played this guy and shut him out for 4 quarters. 0-0 with 5 seconds left. I had a chance to kick the game winner but the FG view changes in a pressure kick so I shanked it.

He ended up winning but I gave him hell and shut him down for an entire game, and this dude was putting up 40-50pts a game. So he may have won but as a newcomer to madden, I was proud and counted it as a personal victory of mine. 06 was definitely the best ever!

Thats awesome. I remeber I brought eight of my friends over to my house and I played in a huge tournament a year ago and I ended up winning because I was the only one who still played it. But I had trouble agianst my friend name Jerry because he played as falcons so he just scrabled pretty much the whole game.

My friend Chris was the same way until I figured out to stuff the middle and send a CB blitz. He never understood what I was doing lol

The cb blitz was the play that won me the game. It forced a fumble on his drive to tie the game

That also happens with my brother but he made up players so he has QB all 99, WR all 99 and HB 99 but I can still beat him because of two plays cb blitz, and ss blitz

heck ya i like personally madden 05 with ray lewis on the front thats was the first hit stick i love madden 05 they were better games back then lol

what i remember was having great control on defense. for me the absolute key was being able to choose between swat a pass or intercept it. forgive me if i'm wrong, but the swat option either got lost or felt completely different in the next gen. that's a big reason why i stopped playing

I personally, liked 2005 as the best ever, but 2006 was fun too. I was stuck playing 2007 out there...on PS2 no less lol. Miss the PS2 versions though they had way more stuff in the franchise mode that made it so worth playing through the seasons.

That was awesome! After Madden 2006 it was all about scoring and scoring more. I also miss the gamecube controller. Nintendo keeps going down hill...

Madden 06 was definitely the best Madden ever. The only thing I hated was that in Franchise mode, a passer rating of 85 would lead the league especially after a couple seasons. Maybe 1 QB would throw for 4000 yards.

I say this as a european here(so release dates for games were different)
Madden 2006 is the best MADDEN GAME thanks to my so far All-Time favorite ESPN NFL2k5!!!
Back in the days EA & Sega really had a great rivalry!
Madden 2005 was better as ESPN NFL Football,
so Sega came back strong and raised the bar with ESPN NFL2K5 and then Madden 2006 came along.
Last great Madden "thanks" to Sega's lost of the NFL license.
Really if you check Madden 12/13 now, they just added now stuff NFL2K5 had already in 2004!
And i don't talk about crazy stuff, stuff that should be a part in any so called "Simulation"!

I hope soooo that 2014, 2K Sports is going after the NFL License and we have a great competition and veriaty then!

I remember recovering a fumble with a defensive lineman in that game, and running it back 80 yards for a TD, then after the TD before the extra point it showed that lineman on the sideline getting oxygen lol. Little things like that made it awesome

ESPN just nails the presentation aspect of a game. I really wish they'd be able to get back into making NFL 2K games again.
