Brees Vs Sd Or Edwards Vs Miami?

9 posts in this topic

Im in a 20 team league and i got both Brees and Edwards because they're both great quarterbacks and if one has a bad matchup ill swap them.. Anyway, im not sure who to start here.. Drew Brees against a tough San Diego pass defense, or Trent Edwards against a stingy Miami pass defense.. Trent is coming off of a concussion and Brees is just an amazing QB.. Who would you go with?

Actually San Diego is 31st in the league against the pass (2nd to last). Plus Brees is going against the team that let him go and he leads the league in passing yards. Drew Brees is a must start, especially in this game. He could even be considered one of the best starts of the week.

Just incase you don't believe me. Here is ESPN's sortable Defense Stats. Just click on "Pass YPG" to sort. San Diego is allowing 254.6 ypg on passing. That's good enough for 31st in the league.

i agree. but don't sleep on edwards. he's been very consistent this year, and isn't turning the ball over. edwards just got me over 20 points this week against the chargers. i'd keep an eye on NOs offense. bush is out. their WRs are in odd shape due to injuries....AND, this game is in LONDON. the time zone thing may affect both teams.

look what the ravens were able to do to miami this week with their run game, and without a big time WR like lee evans. throw in the fact that the bills have been VERY efficient with edwards under center, and it could be a recipe for a huge day.

i'm not saying you should start edwards. i'm just saying it's not as much of a lock to start brees as you think.

True , I forgot that the game was in London. But with Bush being out, one might think that Brees will have to do more.

I think it's supposed to be raining here sunday (as it always is), plus the british audience prefer a bruising ground game to a silky arial attack. That's our style. Obviously SD have a better ground game that NO, so I anticipate the chargers to get most of the fan support (personally, they're one of my least favourite teams, that's just me). I think Edwards might actually be a better start.

This week I'm playing Edwards over Kurt Warner, I have my fingers crossed. Aaron Rogers is on a bye, thats my other QB.
