I take it the 4th rounder is for Evans?
what? we traded evans? Compensatory picks are for losing UFA that sign for other teams, generally if you lose X amount of players and sign Y, you will get X-Y amount of picks, so say we lost 4 UFA, signed 2, we will get 2 draft picks. The size of the contracts then dictate the round, the highest (ie Nmandi) being round 3, then other tihings such as playing time, pro bowl, post season honours etc can mean you get higher round pick

Great news. More picks for Ozzie to acquire more mid round talent.

I just have this feeling we are going to move around a little in this draft. Nothing to do with the comp picks really, But they just make it a little easier. The draft is deep in most of the areas that we need to build on and I can't wait to see what we do come April.

Maybe the NFL felt sorry for us because we traded for the bum.

If you think this year's compensatory pick is going to be good.

Wait next year....

Ben Grubbs - 3rd rounder (Maybe)
Jarret Johnson - 4th rounder
Cory Redding - 5th rounder
Haruki Nakamura - 7th rounder
Tom Zbikowski - 7th rounder

But then I think the signing of those Special Teamers would cancel out the back-up safety losses.

This changes everything. We saw last year first hand that great talent can be found in mid rounds(Pernell McPhee). Not to mention who they've found in the past. I have no doubt the Ravens will find another great contributors with those picks.

Let me get it started: round 1-Hill (WR); round 2-Lewis (DE); round 3-Washington (G); round 4-Molk (C); round 5- Thomas (S); round 5 Burflict (MLB); round 6 Tyler (RB); round 7 Zuerlein (K).

for grubbs it would normally be a third, but there was hugely inflated salaries given out this year, which decide the round of the pick, so grubbs' salary was actually kind of second tier in comparsion to the rest, its the equivalent of Chesters deal last year in many respects.

Bring your expectations back a round.

Looking at what everybody else got, I'd say we made out better than all teams except for the Raiders (3rd,4th,5th), Packers(2 4ths, 2 7ths) and Vikings(2 4ths).

Do the raiders have any normal picks in this draft? I guess if ya suck that bad at drafting, trading players for ur picks might be a work around (although not so smart if ya ask me)

We should have never traded for Evans in the first place. The Toronto Bills got the best of that deal.

All they need is a Molson logo on their helmet rather than a buffalo.
