Bryant Mckinnies Motivator

So did McKinnie, who balloned to 400 ilbs, lose weight to get a team and play the sport he loves one last time?

Or was it because he took out a $4mil loan?

Apparently he took out a $4.2 mil loan for the lockout period, and "forgot" to pay it back, there now has been a lawsuit filed.

What's wrong with you?! EVERYONE around here knows that Ray Lewis is the one who motivated him!!!

Geez you act like these players play for money & not the love of the game with a story like this! Everyone knows the romantic belief of McKinnie becoming inspired by Lewis & Reed, two fellow Hurricanes, to make a run with aspirations of holding the Lombardi.

...right?

McKinnie's situation sounds awfully similar to Ricky Williams situation while he was in Miami. Substance abuse (food, marijuana) and owing someone lots of money (Pro Loans, Miami Dolphins).

Agencies like this target players for scams. From the article, he didn't sign the document with a lawyer present - stupid. Sounds similar to something Boldin got involved in, iirc.

McKinnie played really well for us at left tackle... I think he was a supplemental replacement to JG Jared Gaithers. I think just being on a contending team rather then a not so contending Vikings team is much of a motivator by itself..

By "really well" do you mean "he was ok?" He wasn't bad but he wasn't all that good either. And yes, he was a stopgap for Jared Gaither.

I'd say he was better the ok, but nothing to be overly excited about. I agree that Big Mac is a stop gap, but that gap might run about 3-4 years. Mckinnie is 32 right now and could very well play until 35 or so.

Reports are that Big Mac has lost even more weight and will be a full participant in all offseason Team Activities. So Big Mac should be in much better shape then last year.

The potential for McKinnie to be a dominate or at least a very good LT is still there and working his butt of this off-season might be thd first step for him to get back to form. McKinnie has already said he wants to be here long term and seems to be motivated to prove why the Ravens should consider it.

A in shape, highly motivated McKinnie might be a strong force for our oline and help out the new LG.

If McKinnie plays well this season I could definitely see him getting a 3 year deal like Birk. He groom a youngster much like Birk will do this year.

I'm really pulling for Big Mac to have a strong season and garner a deal for 2-3 years because I'm not liking this weak LT draft class and we definitely don't currently have anyone behind him

this is my question though, he could very well be motivated for the wrong reason, and now he has been paid his bonus, he could go back to pigging out on pies, booze and pussycat

I like Quadruple Mac, but there are going to be younger and faster guys in the league who can run right past him.

If Gaithers would have manned up rather than sit out and collect his money, then he might be the starting LT on this team. Good luck motivating his lard butt all season, SD.

Part of collecting the salary is he agreed to come to OTAs, Training Camp and other team organized events. So he will not be fat again this year.

Apparently he took out a $4.2 mil loan for the lockout period, and "forgot" to pay it back, there now has been a lawsuit filed.

Let's see, his salary is $3.2M for 2012 and he owes $4.5M? That's not good business sense. Where did he take his loan from the Gotti family?

Hey Arnie, according to the BBJ Tottenham and Liverpool are planning an exhibition match here at M & T on July 28th. Maybe they can make it a charity match for Big Bryant?

I can't say whether he will or won't pig out. However, I do know that this man has started 179 of 180 games over his 10 year career since leaving Miami. The weight thing has been well documented, as well as the off field issues, however when its time for this guy to go to work, he's ready to go on field.

I highly doubt Mac would attend all the offseason programs with the team and still be able to pig out.

There are young fast guys in the NFL right now and unless the NFL plans on transforming into a Track and Field event in the next 2 years, I think he'll be ok as long as he's in shape.

I just don't see a better option at LT right now. Unless we can get a guy like Marcus McNeil on a 1 year deal and he prove he's healthy. Other then that, if Mac comes back strong this year he might be our best option for another year or 2.

A slimmer leaner McKinnie and Cody. Oher is learning a new position in case Reid can't cut it. The Capo di Tutti is leaning on the Wiz to get a deal done with young Joe and Ray. Torrey is healthy and seeking 1,000 yards. Can you smell what the Ravens are cooking in the draft?
