Receiver Help Please

5 posts in this topic

Okay I need help at reciever. Here's my roster:

QB:
Kurt Warner
Matt Schaub

RB:
Clinton Portis
Joseph Addai
Thomas Jones
Domnic Rhodes

WR:
Braylon Edwards
Santana Moss
Santonio Holmes

I was thinking about packaging Schaub, Addai or Jones, and one of my recievers to get a number one reciever. What do you think?

If you could get someone to take Addai along with Schaub then I'd say go for it. This might be a little risky but if you can get Colston try for him, I know he didn't get anything this week, but with Bush out he'll be getting more looks as long as the weather is decent in London and with him coming back from injury you might be able to get him without giving up one of your WRs.

woah...take it easy there.

i wouldn't trade shaub. warner is fantasy gold, but is also an injury waiting to happen. schaub is consistent at the least. i'd keep him.

addai's trade value is DOWN. he's hurt right now. why would a team trade for addai when he's not going to give them anything right away?

thomas jones isn't scoring a lot, but he's racking up yards rushing and receiving.

edwards is up and down, but i'd stilll consider him a #1 threat

santana moss is a very solid #2 WR

holmes is going to be hit or miss, and is probably a bye week replacement #3 WR or flex player.

all in all, your team isn't that bad. i'd stick with that rather than mortgage everything on adding a few more points through your WRs.

consistency wins fantasy football. not big weeks, followed by poor weeks. take the guy that can consistently put you close to 20 points a week, instead of the guy that gets you 30 one week, and 8 the next. that 8 point game makes you lose. consistent players keep you competitive in every game

If your league only allows 2 rbs to start then do this...Package Braylon Edwards and Rhodes for 2 wrs not great but consistent. Maybe try and go for Roy Williams cuz he hasn't been putting up jack this season but now that he's in dallas he could be a late season jackpot. L. Coles or Cotchery., harrison, R.Wayne. Or maybe just 1 big time fantasy WR like Steve Smith or T.O./Colston and then hit the waiver wire for a sleeper pick

But first i'd look into Deon Branch who is most likely a FA cuz he's been injured for the first 8 games but when he gets back onto the field Hasselback should be returning around the same time from his injury and will most likely be his go to guy.

Look into Brandon Llyod for the bears. He's injured and has been out for the last couple of weeks but when he's healthy he's Ortons go to guy (really his only WR) and if you've been following Orton you'll know he's in the top 10 for most Fantasy points this year.

If you can have S.Moss, 1 big time WR, and a FA sleeper in your starting lineup you'll be good to go. I usally shop the waiver wire for a WR each week looking for match ups against week pass defenses. If you do Trade addai or Rhodes pick up warren dunn Tampa (RB), pierre thomas Saints (RB) McClain our (RB) Shaun Alexander (Portis new backup) Lamont Jordon/Morris (now the main rb's with mauroney on IR) for NE. That should add some solid depth to your bench especially if someone gets injured.

Hope this helps.
