Saints' Bounty Investigation, Updated: Suspensions Overturned Then Re-Issued

I've disliked the Saints ever since they became media darlings in 2006, despite being only an above-average, soft team.
I didn't 'dislike' them until last year when I saw how dirty they played against us. Watching in person lets you see way more of the cheap shots, late hits, etc, than you ever see on TV. I left that game stunned by what I saw and lost all respect for the team.

He's under exclusive tender. He can't talk contract with any other team. Right now he's kinda stuck.

Oh and did anyone else catch Warren Sapp calling out Jeremy Shockey as the snitch? Apparently the two got in a tweet war sometime yesterday.
That was a pretty bad move on the NFL's part: allowing a person who may have done the right thing to be outed on their own network.

I doubt Sapp knows who the "snitch" is. He probably thinks it is Shockey, but anyone could come to that conclusion. You could say Fujita did it, too. Shockey is a likely candidate because of him going to Carolina (rival) whose QB was targeted (Cam Newton).

I saw enough on TV to solidify my feelings. If I recall, they were getting a little chippy towards the end of the game as we ran them out of the building.

this is a long read but it says at the end everything they did. Williams decided who got paid etc etc, and payton knew all about it.

Well, bounty to take down the best ILB ever lived; it's just a highest bounty on the Saints list...

Besides, if the Saints respect NFL, then they shouldn't come up with the bounty list to hurt someone for winning...

I was insinuating Lewis as an example that the bounty list can include Lewis...

Who would be stupid enough to try? Hines Ward tried to get him from behind but, in the end, Hines was being escorted off the field and wondering, glassy-eyed, what #52 did to him.

I'll bet stupidity will reserve for the Saints organization cuz they are facing the downfall of the organization when their bounty scandal went to public and to the world. It's now considered as a crime, yet to be indicted.

PS: Going after Ray Lewis is like going after a heavyweight champion when you are just a lightweight.....

Is Brees contractually obligated to stay in the Big Easy? If not, I would suggest he move to, say, San Fran. They almost went to the Super Bowl with a sub-par QB, so one can only imagine what they'd be like with Breesy at the helm.

Except Ray wasn't on the field when the Saints' defense was. What was Drew Brees going to lay him out? Just the Saints' D we're talking about here.

Well last time Drew Brees was on the Franchise Tag, he got injured that season, left the Chargers after the season and came to New Orleans. Now he is on the Franchise Tag again, and could he leave New Orleans after this season??

Gregg Williams is suspended "indefinably" and the NFL is currently deciding whether to pardon him or not.

Just get it over with and fire him. Put in a HUGE fine.

Before the game against the 49ers, Gregg Williams urged the Saints to injure the 49ers.
‘We hit [expletive] Smith right there’ – then he points under his chin [and continues] – ‘remember me.’ Then he rubs his thumb against his index and middle fingers – the cash sign – and says, ‘I got the first one. I got the first one. Go get it. Go lay that [expletive] out,’” Pamphilon told Silver.

“We’ve got to do everything in the world to make sure we kill Frank Gore’s head,” Williams told his players. “We want him running sideways. We want his head sideways.”

“We need to find out in the first two series of the game, the little wide receiver, No. 10, about his concussion,” Gregg Williams told his players about Kyle Williams. “We need to [expletive] put a lick on him, move him to decide. He needs to decide.”
Pollard probably collected on Gronk last year, of course he doesnt agree. I heard he was was sent from the future to destroy the Pats dynasty or legacy. I thought thy were a little harsh on everyone besides Williams but I don't know how much Payton and everyone else knew. The poop is about to hit the fan. I still want to know how these tapes got out but spygate was burned. I will forever want to know what they had recorded.

After hearing and reading Gregg Williams' speech...yeah, no way he comes back to the NFL or coaches on any level again.

That wasn't just your typical pre-game, rah-rah speech. The verbiage used, indicates that he wanted his players to INJURE the opposing team. Targeting a guy with concussions? Encouraging defenders to attack the other QB's head? Taking out a RB's ACL? That's some pretty sick stuff.

I honestly don't think the NFL needs to do anything more than suspend Williams at this point more than a year. I think they can keep their 1-year suspension or whatever they want to do. The true problem for Williams will be finding a job. I don't think too many teams will even hire him because of this problem & the bad publicity it would bring their clubs.

Regardless of what the NFL does as a league or Goodell's decision on Williams' suspension, I feel his career in coaching is done. I am even talking at the college level. He is most likely finished.

That's not even a good pre-game speech. It doesn't make you want to lay someone out. It makes you want to think "What the hell is wrong with us?".
