That Defense along with our current offense, we should've won couple Super Bowls already.

At least I have to give credit that our OC Cam, along with his dumbfounded playcalling, still better than that 2000 Offense.

Joe Flacco > Trent Dilfer
Ray Rice > Jamal Lewis
Anquan Boldin > Travis Taylor
So we're really going to let this go? Nobody else caught this? lol

No way in the world Ray Rice is better than a prime Jamal Lewis. At least not yet, but even then I don't think it's close.

I dunno. Jamal Lewis really only had 1 great season. Ray Rice has been more consistent and he adds an added dimension that Jamal didnt, Rice is a premier dual-threat RB.

2 different running styles. That's like comparing a Fiat and a Mack truck.

Agreed. 100%

But J was still the man.

Put Ray Rice behind the Oline we had from 2000-2006, the QBs and the WRs and Ray Rice is out of the league in 3 years with a career ending injury of some sort. Rice doesn't face the defenders in the box that Jamal did on a day in day out basis. Jamal was making contact and breaking off runs on every play it felt like. Rice goes down from arm tackles, Jamal made his living breaking those.

I love running backs like Jamal, They won't bust off big ones as often but they will pick up the first down and they can create their own holes.

Then Jamal Lewis started doing the fred flintstone in the backfield.

Couldn't find the one against the Raiders, but this one is good too.

If we don't get an offensive line fixed for next season, I see a lot more playing time for Allen.

Is that a prediction that Rice will be, I will just say the "I" word for jinx purposes? Our line last year was good but not great. With or with out Grubbs this line will be good but not great so I don't agree. You can't really compare these guys because they are so different in their game, but I would have loved to have seen them as teammates. Can you imagine having a change of pace like these two? Would have been best back field of all time, hands down. To put it simply though I'm glad that I was able to see both of these guys play in purple and black.

Are you kidding me? Rice almost never goes down from first contact, he bounces of tacklers like its his job (well it is). He has incredible balance and shiftiness. He doesnt have the same power that Jamal did, but as some others have pointed out they are very different backs. How about this little factoid..only once in Jamal's career (2003) did he put up more Yards from Scrimmage than Rice has in each of his 3 seasons as a starter.

I didn't say Rice goes down on first contact all the time, I said it took a whole lot more to take Jamal down than it does Rice from a physical standpoint. Rice will bounce off a tackle yes, but when Rice faces a physical defense he's not the same runner. Jamal in his prime was going face up with LBs and running them over.

You bring up the point that Rice is a better all around back than Jamal was, which is correct, Jamal couldn't catch for crap lol which is why Rice has more yards from scrimmage. But if we're talking straight HBs from a running perspective, I'm taking Jamal every time.

It ended at 51%, looks like we won. Ha ha,looks like Warren Sapp was proved wrong again....
uh oh. According to that columnist....now all is not right with the world lmao

edit: Just to add that it does not state a Ravens win (even though last I checked 51% to 49% was a win) it says Even. And the bracket has not reset yet. Hmmm....

Ravens move on! Here is a video describing our next opponent, the 84' Niners.

http://www.nfl.com/v...s-vs-1984-49ers

*Warning* Elliot Harrison and Adam Rank break down the match-up and both are known Ravens haters. Actually it is somewhat infuriating how little respect we get, but the I would expect nothing less from these two.

They act as though Billick would let Dilfer throw 40 times a game and give Montana field position on our own 30 every drive.
I still remember them completely pretending that Flacco wasn't nominated for moment of the year at that awards show. I wouldn't put it past them.

I feel we can get another upset
Remember the '84 49ers hadn't even drafted Jerry Rice yet. Also defense wins championships.
It will come down to Ravens and Bears I think.

Okay. Lets get the 2000 team the respect they deserve.

1. Go to nfl.com
2. Hold down the "Ctrl" key and keep clicking the, "Can '00 Ravens continue run vs. '84 49ers?"
3. Wait a few seconds for like 50 tabs to load (*It will also load the voting templates..just be patient*)
4. Be like Rambo with a machine gun.

Got us back to 50/50 this way.

Oh Rank, how you hate the Ravens. Montana scoring 55 points on the best defense in history? In 2000, the Raiders and Broncos averaged about 30 ppg, around the same as the 49ers, and the Ravens held them to 6 points combined in the playoffs.

It's so funny how angry they are that the Ravens have made it this far. Just goes to show how many awesome Ravens fans there are out there.

We have a pretty strong online base and our franchise has managed not to piss many others off like the Cowboys, Steelers, Jets, etc
