MERGED: Joe Flacco Contract

101 posts in this topic

YA! What everyone else above me said. Flacco is the best ever! And another thing guy! Us "Flacco Boys" ( i nicknamed us Flacco fans that) dont appreciate you coming into our thread and messing it all up with stats and junk. Wins are the only thing that matters. He should get 15 million a year, who cares about signing anyone else!

Sorry if this has already been talked about I didn't see it though.

With the 3/26M deal for Flynn and the rumored 3/24M deal for Alex Smith that helps set the QB market and should help with the Flacco negotiations. FA QBs besides Manning didn't get paid and he's a 4 time MVP.

Keep Flacco in the 8-10M range ideally. Max maybe 6/65M. Back end some bonus money
I think that Flacco easily gets $10M/yr with $35 to 40M bonus money. Hopefully we can sign him for at least 8 years.

Id prefer to get Flacco signed this year as opposed to next year. Reason being is that Flacco is going to break out this season and put up some big games and numbers, and the deal we could sign him to now could turn out to be a steal. I have 100% confidence in Flacco to lead us to a SuperBowl this year. He really came under heat this season in the media and he fired back, it lit a fire under him. Now hes battle tested and ready to steal us some games.

Apparently if you think Flacco is a Franchise QB that makes you a homer. Who knew?

As it should be. If you want a legitimate reason to cry and whine about your QB, move to Cleveland.

I'd rather be a homer than a mindless drone who can't think for himself and just regurgitate everything Jamie Dukes says.

I agree. Only an idiot would base their opinion solely on stats FROM ONE SEASON while IGNORING THE REST OF FLACCO'S CAREER.

That's funny because I thought Jamie Dukes regurgitates everything he says.

Flacco should, and will get a way bigger deal then some people think he will on here.
I would say around 13 mil a year. Give him a 6 year contract. About 30 guaranteed.
I think he's earned that.

You live in Hawaii....We most definitely never refer to Bmore as Flacco Town and we never will. Birdland or Ravenstown.

There's a huge difference between Franchise QB and Elite QB. He should get paid like a Franchise QB but nothing more than 12 million.

Hope the deal gets done. This drama of nothing getting done is holding Ravens hostage on what we can do in FA.

I know, I will be thrilled if one of them (ray or joe) get's something worked out by next friday.

i would love webb to get worked out too..

right now, most of the FAs for next year are

Flacco
Webb
Rice
Ed Reed
Pollard
Dennis Pitta
Cary
McKinnie
Kruger
Art Jones
Ellerbe
Kindle
Danny Gorrer
Morgan Cox
Emanuel Cook
Albert McClellan
David Reed

I would like at least three of the top 5 done this year, franchise the other, and then hopefully get reed done next year.. let the rest test the water, hope we can bring them back. Some are RFA such as pitta, offer them all tenders.

Alex Smith reportedly got a 33 mil/ 3 year deal. That's 11 million a year just from his first successful season. Trust me Joe will be getting a lot more than some people want to believe. Better accept it right now.

Okay you guys converted me. Give this guy 20 million per, 49 % stake in the franchise , 25% of all tailgating and parking revenue.
Who cares if improvements can't be made elsewhere on this offense to help it rise above the QBs mediocrity.

Rice , Boldin and Yanda are the only championship caliber players on the whole offense the rest are just taking up a number.

Will someone please sign Ellerbe and give us a draft pick so that we can add more depth?

Where was your hero Rice while Flacco was busy putting his team on his shoulders in the AFCCG?
Oh, he was on Flacco's shoulders too, like everyone else.

Word.

In that AFCCG, Ricky Williams ran better than Ray Rice. As much as I love Rice, he can be stopped. Anyone can to that point. Flacco looked a Hell of a lot better in that game than Rice, though. Yeah, the line was breaking down but Ricky still ran OK through it where Rice just got straight-up stuffed.

Probably gameplanned out by the master but possibly worn down by how many times captain checkdown used him as a safety valve during the season. Smart gameplanning by Belicheck, if you watched the game and understand football you'd understand at times even great players can be gameplanned out. Rice while not putting up numbers was able to free up space for captain checkdown to rise above mediocrity even for a game. He missed some wide open looks but that's to be expected from him. Flacco had a pretty good game but the over all package is one of mediocrity. A lot of you folks throw a hissy fit when one of the networks give their opinion on Flacco. No doubt they'd be speaking the gospel if they sung Mr Fumbles praises.

Besides lacking ball security and the ability to find and hit open recievers he'll never be good enough to win a championship that is evident.

When you say "if you watched the game and understand football" it gives me the impression that I'm some wet behind the ears kid, and you know what you are talking about.

I'm not going to waste time arguing with another Flacco basher. Everything you said has been repeated here countless times (I watch Jamie Dukes too) and been debunked thoroughly.

Enjoy having a 'mediocre' QB for another 6-7 years, because we are about to lock him up long term.

I love the fact that he says the only 3 championship caliber are a guard, a running back and one receiver who struggles to get open and the QB is the problem.

I'm fairly certain Boldin gets released after next year, he's one of my favorite receivers ever, but he just can't do damage outside the numbers anymore.

Why do people make such a big deal about Flacco "checking down" do Rice and then piss and moan when Rice doesn't get touches in the pass game. In the last 2 playoff loses Flacco, while he's made his fair share of mistakes, he's made the plays necessary for his team to win. However dropped passes and missed assignment has hampered this "TEAM".

Anyway enough about what Flacco has or hasn't done, the Ravens obviously feel they have the Franchise QB they can win Super Bowls with. So it doesn't matter what some misinformed people think. The people inside that Castle know what they have in Flacco.

As for his contract, I think its not done yet because Flacco's people saw the type of money Kolb got last year and they wanted to see his someone would over pay for Matt Flynn and Alex Smith this year, which would drive Flacco's number up.

Now that all the QB movement seems done, I look for talks with the Ravens and Linta to intensify in the coming weeks if not days. I look for Flacco and the Ravens to come together on a deal that'll be about 13 mill per year. I also think the deal will only be about 5 years, which will give Flacco the opportunity at a blockbuster deal entering his 30's.
