lol at the comments. Majestic? Yeah that really describes the eagles there. Hey Evan how about you come to a drama free football team? One that doesnt label themselves a dream team, then fall apart.

I would like to see us get Mathis but just like with Grubbs we won't overpay. Guards are always available. Hell we could bring Gurode back for a year and then nab a guy in the 2nd or 3rd

A journeyman guard like Evon Mathus is not worth all of this drama.

He can keep on steppin. I'd rather try to sign Erik Winstin and either move Michael Or either to guard or trade him on draft day.

This is no longer funny, never really was. Please stop.

You can find stud interior lineman in the mid rounds dude, thats the point. The vast majority of interior lineman are mid round guys. When you look around the league how many WR absolute studs are mid round guys when compared to 1st or 2nd round selections? If we don't get people who can get off press man coverage outside of Torrey Smith then we also won't be going to a Super Bowl. Hence the catch 22.

I am still in the corner for Konz, if it makes value-sense in round one.

I would slightly disagree with that article. Yes, it is weaker after Konz. But every position seems to get weaker after a certain point.

Not to mention, a lot of solid-good linemen come from small schools and don't get many looks. Our organization is very good at finding these small school, unknown gems. Webb and McPhee, for example.

Mathis, if you don't pull your head out of your candy rear and look at the facts (that the Eagles sucked even though they went overboard in FA's, and the Ravens take care of their loyal own and were so close to a Super Bowl appearance if not a win) then you can have fun losing to us in our little matchup we have. By the way, Ngata will have something to say to you if you decide to go to Philly... just warning you.

Welp...it seems that we've lost Mathis. Draft a guard, now. Who else is out there? I don't see Winston getting paid by us.

The difference is that I put high stock in the expert Mel Kiper. Mayock and McShay don't measure up.

The heck with Mathis... I hope you go out and tear an acl like you always seem to be so darn good at. If not, then Ngata will just keep running you over, over and over again until you quit and get a phantom injury to leave the game. Hope you enjoy your little food and presents.. you'll have plenty of time to do so since there's no way in heck that you will make the playoffs this year, big boy.

Damn it Mathis. Was really hoping he chose us but on the bright side, some times free agency isn't about the signings you make, sometimes it's the signings you didn't make. Time to add some youth to our offensive line, draft a Guard to replace Grubbs. No need to switch anyone around, just go into the Draft and add a good young solid Guard.

It's OK. No big deal.

I had a feeling he was using us to position the Eagles for a bigger deal. This just confirms it. It's all good. We will be quite all right.

It's a shame he chose the Eagles over us but you can't blame the guy. He's used to the organization and he is comfortable. I just hope he knows it's not personal when he plays against Haloti Ngata & Terrence Cody this year. :) He has a history of getting hurt against the Ravens.

It may be old news to some, but I just read on ESPN's rumor blog that Mathis told the Eagles the details of the offer the Ravens made.

He and his agent could have been trying to drive his price up all along.

Way too far... He just had his best season ever on the Eagles and you hope he tears his ACL because he re-signed with them..? Really?

100% agree, man. Mayock is the most prepared and versed analyst, in terms of substance, in the media circuit today. I would actually rank Mayock as being THE best and most legitimate judge of talent in TV today. His insight is usually spot on.

Yeah, it looks like he was just using us as leverage to drive his price up for the Eagles. I assume we offered him 4.5M-5M deal. Our deal was probably very similar to the one he received.

Mayock actually played in the league and is easily one of the best talent evaluators on television.

so now what, are there any other suitable guards out there in free agency? With drafting someone, we would have to find someone who could come in a play almost right then. And there lies the problem, our offensive line production would then most likely go down hill.....

Them not signing a player doesn't they didn't make an effort. There's not a quality team in the league that has tons sunk into the interior o-line. There's just no need.

Yeah well who do you suggest fill the spot? I don't think Reid is ready and ..jury's out on Gurode. I love the offensive line....I just want the guys to stay consistent..the constant shuffling doesn't help.

I think our next move will be very telling. I am VERY interested in seeing what we do. There are many scenarios that can play out from here forward. We could sign Winston as the RT & move Oher to the LG position. We could leave Oher as RT & move Reid as the LG. We can put Boren as LG & keep Oher as RT. I mean, there are literally so many variables at this point it is very difficult to guess what we do.

A very interesting point, though: if we do move Oher to LG, we will have two guards who can play the corresponding tackle position. I find that very interesting. While I don't think Michael Oher was TERRIBLE as the LT, he was not good. But, there is something to be said for a guy who could play either position. I can see us do this.

I could also see us sign a veteran FA who was cut by another team, someone like Brown or something like that. It might not even be addressed until after the draft, when quality players who are cut because of cheaper replacements.
