Joe isn't exactly a mobile qb like Vick but he is like Aaron Rodgers where he can buy time or pick up positive yardage when need be.

Also, that will probably be the last time I compare Flacco to Rodgers lol

As opposed to having teams play press man against us and Flacco having no one to throw to because even with 5 seconds of time no one is open?

We're in a catch 22 spot, the point Alexir is trying to make is that you can find an interior lineman in the mid rounds who's play won't be that far of a drop off compared to Konz. You aren't going to find another WR in the entire draft that can do what Floyd can do.
That is right. If you do not want to put studs in the trenches, then we will not make another Super Bowl. (What I am saying is get them right off the bat, instead of settling for 2nd tier rookies who will not get us to a Super Bowl.)
PS. Losing Grubbs is enough of a problem to address, not to mention Grandpa Birk.

No.

Rather put Floyd out on the field, than have Konz at center as our first round pick.
Amen to that. I've been clamoring for Floyd for MONTHS. He would very quickly become our bonafide number one wideout.

Maybe trade out of the first and get Molk 3rd round?
WaltersFootball.com has Molk going in the 5th.

Not a single one of those would I take in the first round unless we somehow traded back and all the other prospects were gone.
I'd take Wright because he can return kickoffs and punts too.

Agreed. Floyd over just about any other prospect that might fall to us. He's easily a top-5 prospect IMO if Justin Blackmon is considered one - Floyd is a better receiver talent wise.
Floyd won't get past Jacksonville at number 7. He will be off the board shortly after Blackmon.

On iPhone, hard to quote but to the smart guy who was saying Floyd would be snappin the ball my point was Centers don't go in the first normally and we can get a quality starter in a later round, I'm a huge trench guy, but I don't wanna reach for a position in the first when we have needs that may not be there in later rounds
konz is still good value at 29, that guys a quality player you can put at 3 spots on the O-line and start for 10 years.

Ben Grubbs left a big hole on this offensive line... The Real questions is will Mathis fill this hole?
Mathis allowed 0 sacks and opened up huge running lanes for LeSean McCoy last season for the Eagles, I think that is an upgrade in itself.

Mathis, at the right price, would fit in perfectly... it's been really quiet on that front which makes me think that the visit went well.

I don't think he leaves without being signed. The other interested parties are the Skins and Colts, and Matrhis wants to win

It's still a business though. If one of those other two teams offer him a greater contract than the Ravens, I'm sure he'll take the money and live comfortably.

“@RavensInsider: Evan Mathis told me: 'It was a good meeting with the Ravens. I think it's a good fit.' No deal yet, though He's staying in town til tomorrow”

“@RavensInsider: Evan Mathis is having dinner tonight with Ravens team officials. He's an Alabama guy like GM Ozzie Newsome, says, "It's a good connection.'”

You can find stud interior lineman in the mid rounds dude, thats the point. The vast majority of interior lineman are mid round guys. When you look around the league how many WR absolute studs are mid round guys when compared to 1st or 2nd round selections? If we don't get people who can get off press man coverage outside of Torrey Smith then we also won't be going to a Super Bowl. Hence the catch 22.

Looks too much like Clayton for me. Undersized, small guy who was explosive in college, had the athlete of the century throwing to him, then runs a 4.6 at the combine? Dont'a Hightower at 260 pounders ran that.

I'll take Hightower over a receiver if he is available.
We're going to take the best player available. If a guy like Floyd falls, will grab him. If nobody falls and we think we can get the players we want by trading back, we will. If Hightower is available I do think we probably take him, but if the best prospect on the board is, say, Konz, were almost certainly trading down.

still no news whether he signed with Ravens?
He is staying in Baltimore overnight to have dinner with fellow Alabama alumni Ozzie. That's a good sign.

Mathis will stay in Baltimore because JJ told him to sign here. It was JJ's way of helping the Ravens one last time. JJ went to Alabama & played with Mathis when he was there. Lol. I'm kidding, this is a joke. Well, they did play together.

Anyway, I have a feeling we will sign Mathis. It seems like it's going to happen. At least, I hope...

I dont know if anyone's seen this, but Mathis is a bad mamma jamma.

We definitely wouldn't have to worry about any work ethic or Mckinnie weight issues!

McKinnie lost some weight. He's down from 400 to 395. There is no hope that he'll ever get near the 360 that the Ravens have him listed as in the Roster section of this site.

That was a bad indicator of his actual speed. A poor start set him back on the "official time" but he was clocked in the 4.4s unofficially. That said, I really dont care about 40 times when the dude looks explosive on the field. If anything he made RGIII look better not vice versa.

He would definitely be an upgrade. Hurry up and sign already! Everyone knows crabcakes are better than cheesesteaks.

BTW he needs to bring McKinnie to the gym with him. Even fat [profanity deleted] Max Starks was cracking jokes about McKinnie's weight last year. I'm sure McKinnie is working hard now, but this looks like some next level fitness.
