Just wanted to respond to this: The Ravens got beat bad against the Chargers with Floyd going almost 100 yards and a TD against us. Had had over 850 yards in 2011 in only 12 games. That's just a few less than Boldin had and more than Torrey Smith. He had nearly 20 yards per reception. Evans, who we basically only got because we couldn't get Floyd, wound up failing to hold onto the impeccably thrown and easily catchable pass that would have sent the Ravens to the Super Bowl, and had less than 75 yards receiving on the season. I find it absolutely absurd to suggest that the Ravens weren't hurt by the way Malcolm Floyd jobbed us and wasted our time to get a better offer from the Chargers leaving us to sign Evans instead.

No one has signed Evans yet. I guess they all saw the game, huh?

What makes you think we couldn't match it or better it? He was happy with what the Eagles offered him and decided to stay which it seems like he wanted to do all along! Can't blame the FO for this one.

Brady has added 2 new offensive weapons, Gonzales and Lloyd.

They also had a pretty good amount of cap space.

this has to be a joke

No joke. Kiper is legitimate, although McShay is OK. I don't give much credence to what Mayock says. I know if I lived out east I probably would pick Mayock, too, but, I don't.
He and Bayless have the same type of demeanor, and thus I do not give much weight to anyone who automatically thinks he is an authority. Yes, 5 years ago you never heard of Maycock and the guy seems like he is already over 50.

Well here's the silver lining to the whole thing - we face the Eagles next season. I'm sure our guys will make Mathis aware of how they feel that he didn't sign with the Ravens.

Mayock actually watches film and knows what he is talking about. Kiper is someone who nobody gives credence too. Kiper proclaimed burfict as a first rounder. 2 days later mayock said he watched the film and burfict is a borderline 2nd rounder. Mayock actually watches film and understands football. Kiper just talks loud and has been on tv longer. A tv analyst usually knows less than someone who was actually involved in the nfl

Why is this turning into Kiper vs. McShay vs. Mayock? Who cares - none of them are as good as Ozzie Newsome and Eric DeCosta when it comes to evaluating talent. This thread should probably be closed anyway. Mathis has moved on, and so should we.

Exactly right. Mel Kiper may not always be right but for a majority of his predictions, they turn out pretty good. He is also a Ravens fan too so he puts twice as much analysis into figuring out who we should draft than any other team. If I remember correctly he had us picking Jimmy and Torrey and look how that turned out.

So did Mayock. Mathis cam kick rocks. Everyone who vouched for him to come I hope sees his drop in production this year. I bet Grubbs shows out this year as well.
