we would be able to afford it if we gave him a contract where the majority of his money was made in the later years. we could afford winston and mathis by do the same technique as well

if we gave him a contract where the majority of the money is later, the steelers can afford to match it. to steal a player on a RFA tender you have to put money upfront that his current team cannot afford

i mean you offer him money up front that the steelers cant afford in addition to a good amount later in his contract. we most definitely have more cap room than the steelers so we could definitely be more flexible. But it would work best with mathis and winston

we have 7.7 of cap space, we need to sign draft pick, we have an offer for mathis, we are bringing in a RT Winston tonight, likely matt birk. tell me how the hell we offer wallace anything up front, cmon man we cant even afford to offer webb anything right now let alone pay out of our [profanity deleted] for wallace

why bother with these people arnie :)

obviously they think 7.7 means a billion, not a million. this mike wallace thing is a thing of the past. were one of the most limited teams in the league right now in FA to all you idiots. the teams who make somewhat of a move would atleast need to be 15+ and were half that so mike wallace is long gone right now. stop living in a dream world right now, infact i don't even want him if we had the room.

It will take about 12 million to sign Wallace. It's out of our range unless we release some high priced veterans. Odds of that happening is about 1%. I'd love to have a Wallace-like receiver in the draft. Who knows if Torrey Smith won't be as good as Wallace in a few years?

Could very well be possible, Wallace hasn't grown much in his route running since being in the league. If Torrey could find a way to improve that to a game level he would be a more complete WR.

just a joke... but torrey will be a great wr soon and very soon. This year - was a rookie, played through hernia, had no other help, had to beat double teams constantly, etc. he justs need one more compliment and evans didn't provide that. liking his progression

Torrey had a great year. Next year, he will progress to number one receiver status if he keeps progressing. I'm pretty confident that we can find a good receiver in the draft to take some of the pressure off of him.

Eric Winston has apparently signed with the Chiefs.

Lol, oh well. Fine by me. I never thought it made sense to get him. Guess he was looking for the money, or we didn't want him as much as people said.

It's still a little disappointing. He was terrific last season and would've been an upgrade over Oher, who I'm assuming would've been traded had we signed Winston.

Maybe this will cheer you up. We will be fine with Oher, Yanda, Birk, Reid or (insert name), and McKinnie on our line next year. Rice will gain more yards than ever before both running and receiving. Flacco will regain his accuracy and throw for more yards, too. Doss will emerge as the sleeper pick that we always new he could be. Smith will exceed 1000 yards. Boldin will be as good as ever. Dickson and Pitta will be the difference makers in the offense. Just imagine what a year we will have.

Some of you guys are being really optimistic about the upcoming season. The fact that our o-line is the same as last years minus( Ben Grubbs) who may have been our best lineman is bothering me. Eric Winston was not the answer, and moving Reid or Oher in those spots can hurt the chemistry, not to mention the fact that they have to learn interior protection.

I feel like we as Ravens fans are jumping on every free agent on the market. Hoping they sign. Relax, we are already a good football team. We are on our way to being great. We need to keep doing what has worked in years past, and remain patient.

Unfortunate that Winston did not sign, but that's what the draft is for. Still, I feel like there are 2 right tackles on this roster in Reid and Oher - maybe moving one of them to guard would shore up the position. Besides, McKinnie was a roster casualty that we picked up in like July - no reason we can't find somebody again.
