Anyone Else Disappointed The Ravens Won't Play Manning As A Colt Anymore?

32 posts in this topic

Like the topic says, i personally am. We never got a chance to beat him ( been close to 10 yrs ), it seemed he always had our number and now that we have a dam good offense if you ask me, i think we could have beat him this passed yr imo. But we will never know now. I could care less about A.Luck. It just wont be the same.

I dont think it will be the same if we play against him on what ever team he plays on.

Personally, I'm glad that we won't be playing him as a Colt. I want us to go on a nice winning streak versus them and with him as a Colt we won't ever get a long winning streak. Something I hate to admit is that it was a little harder to hate the Colts with Peyton as their QB. He's a likable QB.

I'm curious to see where he ends up. I hope it's Arizona or Miami. At his age, he needs a warm weather city to make his old bones feel better.

I thought we did beat him, but in the burgeoning period of Ravens football / Peyton Manning - like in 1998. He whooped us up pretty good between then and now but I still think that, in the later years, the Colts D was owning us more than Manning. 2006 playoff game is a perfect example.

Either way, both are gone. New era of Colts.

2006 is one of the few times I'll actually blame the Refs. That's the one and only day I saw Peyton Manning able to be Mike Vick running outside the pocket on his 5 yard line to drive up the field. The non-holding calls were killing me inside. But more so than that was knowing we should have won, but Billick wants to pass on the 2-yard line. Laugh out loud.

Nothing lasts forever. One day, we'll play the Pats without Thom Braday. With the way he plays, within the next three years, we'll play the Steelers without Ben Wafflesandburgers.

Now we'll beat the Colts with Luck.

Yes, Manning leaving the Colts feels like Santa getting kicked outta the North Pole .. Its just not right !
If Manning is Santa then what are the Ravens? The bad kids that get coal in their stockings? Because that Santa never left a Raven any decent gift.

Oh, and I am not upset that we will not be seeing him in Indy blue. I have no issue with stomping them with out Peyton. I do not subscribe to that crappola that "to be the best you gotta beat the best". To be the best you have to win the SB, that is all.

I had not thought about that.
Yeah, its a huge dispointment for me.

I always hated when the Ravens played him. He is so dang good and he always seemd to be just one step ahead of us. It was so frusterating.

I agree no matter where he ends up it / he wont be the same.

I'm not disappointed. The offense's failures have been much more frustrating than anything Peyton has done in recent meetings. The game in '07 was during a lost season and I don't remember anyone playing well in the '08 game.

That play-off loss will always sting, but even then, I was more pissed with the offense and play-calling.

The loss had way more to do with the Ravens O being terrible than anything the refs were doing. The one bad call that always sticks out me is Ed Reed intercepting a ball and lateraling it to McAlister along the sidelines... would've been a big return except the refs wrongfully said Ed Reed went out of bounds.

So many regrettable moments that night.

I am upset that we did nto beat him when it counted because we had a chance to go to the superbowl if we could just get past him. Plus in 2006 we are one of the few teams to hold Peyton manning to No touchdowns in his career.

Well if he signs with Denver, we can still have a chance to play him but as a member of the Broncos this season.

I hate getting older lol
If we are getting nostalgic about players on other teams... how are we going to handle when our certain players aren't playing anymore?

San Fran? Harbowl, Flacco vs Manning? Ouch.

If Manning signs in Denver, then it will quiet Tebowmania and give us a chance to beat him. Honestly, Manning is not high on my list of who I want to beat next year. Number one is Brady. Number two and three is Roethlisberger (twice).

No. As long as we play him again and he's healthy I'm all for it. So far I've seen Joe and the offense give everything they had against Minnesota and Favre, and lose. We won't get another shot at Favre. The only time we've beaten Brady is that playoff game - I want to see Joe outduel Brady. Joe still needs to take down Eli, Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, Newton, etc. I want Manning to be the healthiest he's ever been AND with the best team he can get. I want Joe to outplay him, and I don't want any excuses i.e. Manning had a clearly inferior team.

i am glad that he isn´t a colt any longer. we could´t beat him. he always had our number. like palmer.

i highly doubt that manning will play like he did in his good days on another team. not because he isn´t good enough. god knows he was the best. but just because he is still injured in my eyes...
