Jameel Mcclain To Test The Market

68 posts in this topic

You can't blame the man for wanting to go out there and get the best deal he can. But the Ravens always lose players that are built for Baltimore. The player tests the market, gets a better deal than Ozzie can give them, and more times than not, find that they should have stayed in Baltimore because the system suited them better. I wish him luck. Someone is going to overpay.

If Hightower is there at 29 and is the best player available, we should pick him. Not to get into it to deep as this isn't the Draft Forum but If we can get Hightower and Stephen Hill, I would say we made both or offense and defense better.

Lose JJ, but Jameel? He NEEDS to come back. His a +100 tackles guy, and we can lock him for 17-20m for 6years. Lets get this man locked up, along with Webb on defense.

If we can get him for a reasonable deal like that, I'm all for it. I think he'll demand more than that on the market, though. I mean Bart Scott got a 3yr/$13.5M deal in 2005 after half a year as a starter. Jameel's been doing it for 2 years...

It's a sad thing that McClain will get an offer that he can't refuse from a team desperate for a linebacker. He has learned from the best only to turn the teaching to the dark side.

Purple glasses aside Bart Scott was a better ILB than Jameel is. This is a passing league, we need 3 down linebackers.

I don't think that he was or is... when Ray went down McClain stepped in great... if Ray went down when Bart was there we would have blew up and got penalty after penalty. McClain is a good lb And I hope he comes back. Bart might get cut and need to find a place to play. Bart wanted out of the shadow of Ray its in his personality. McClain battled for starting spot and wouldn't let go.

...? Bart Scott stepped in for Ray Lewis when Ray went down during the 2005 season due to a hamstring injury. That's when he got his recognition. So, yeah. Not sure what you mean. Maybe I'm confused.

McClain & Bart have completely different personalities. McClain seems like a more grounded & hard-working individual. I just see a team giving that a really hard look & loving it.

I guess I forgot that year although I do remember we had a good defensive coach that year when he got his start and when McClain got his... well we had nothing... under Pagano he did great. Bart was used a lot as a Blitzer in Ryan defense so they had different playing styles. Although I do believe McClain fits the hard working 100 all the time mentality that we love.
