Wallace would look good in purple and black, but we all know that that's not going to happen either.

I think with our schedule next season we will definately need a 3rd guy who can make plays on the outside. In cams system you kinda need a third guy to stretch the field and we only have one. I think Doss may have a good year next year if given the chance.

I agree.

I think Randy Moss would be a perfect fit if his workouts in New Orleans are any indication. The Ravens room is more than strong enough to handle his perosnality, he fits like a glove into Cam's system, he would be a reliable red zone target (something we don't really have and one of the big reasons I personally believe we struggle to score TD's) as a big target who can go up and win a jump ball.

He'd also presumably come in on a cheap one year deal.

Right player, right price, right time?

An even bigger reason the team struggles in the red zone is Cam's play designs. As some respected national analysts mentioned late in the season, he rarely calls rubs, picks or bunch formation plays that give the WR's cleaner releases.

Seemingly, if a potential receiver doesn't manage beat the DB with his athletic ability or Joe doesn't make a perfect throw, passing TDs are really difficult to come by for this team. Two of the easiest red-zone TD throws Joe has had to make have come in the play-offs the past two years(one to Heap and another to Wilson). But both those kind of plays are rarely called.

Also, you don't have to be especially big to be a good red zone target. Boldin made a living in the red zone as a Cardinal off of screens, slants and being put in motion. The Pack work back-shoulder throws to their WRs in the red-zone probably more than any team in the league.

As critical as I am of Flacco at times, I will say that sometimes he gets hung out to dry for some just bad play calls. You have Boldin who is basically another RB on the field when he gets the ball in open space. why have a WR who's 40 time in prime was 4.7 or 4.8 running go routes. My little brother playing madden knows better then that lol

Lol exactly, I remember last year in the playoffs against Pittsburgh we had Heap running a 9 route, and off course joe overthrows him and gets picked off because Heap was slower than a garbage truck.

It's pretty certain that we can't afford a number one receiver, but there is hope that Smith will be the number one eventually. We would be a fool not to get a decent 3rd receiver via FA or in the draft. Hopefully, Doss will be that guy if we fail to find what we need.

Honestly I'm thinking either Robert Meachem or draft a guy like Brian Quick. Quick needs to develop as a route runner, but there's no reason he can't run a post route in the endzone or a go route (instead of making Boldin run the go route all the time), and he's got the size and hands Cam covets. He's not a burner, but he's got good speed. I'd go for him if we don't sign a free agent. And yes, if Randy is willing to come at the right price, I'd take him as well.
