All I can say is dude..patience.

Two years ago I strained my left front rotator cuff tendon and that took the better part of nine months to get back to right, even with my regiment of twice-daily rehab exercises. Now guaranteed a strained shoulder isn't the same as a dislocated one but I understand your frustration. Just don't try to rush back too soon and set yourself back. That is what I had the most trouble dealing with...the doing too much too soon.

Thanks for the info. I have been trying to take it slow, but I am not a really patient person haha. I've basically gotten range of motion back, but the strength is going to take a while I am sure. On a positive note I am able to run now without any problems.

Oh I hear you on that. My dad had to keep reminding me of how long my stepmother's shoulder injury took to heal (she had fallen--broke her wrist and dislocated her shoulder). Yeah the strength will take a while. I was lucky in that my shoulder never lost range of motion to begin with. But holding the shoulder at certain angles really hurt...and sometimes still does.

Best of luck!

I've been fortunate enough that nearly all major physical injuries I've sustained have been to my left leg. I broke my ankle & dislocated knee when I tried to catch myself while falling off a tilting twelve-foot ladder. Then, the infamous hairline fracture from my knee to my ankle (coupled with blood poisoning) from getting it smashed in a moving car door and drug down the side of a brick garage. Fun fun!

Aside from that, the only other injury I've had was a concussion I received my step-father slamming my head into a garage door. Didn't even know I had a concussion until a few days later at a track meet during the one-mile relay, I got dizzy, collapsed and blacked out.

Anywho, I'm always careful with my left leg when I do everything that involves any kind of knee movement or jumping. Not to mention it kills me when it rains. (Thank you, Isaac.)

Stay healthy and stay safe!

I doubt I've hit a wall. Put on 7 lbs in three weeks and not even 1 lb in the three weeks since. Normal or what's up?

Have you been eating enough? Getting less sleep? If not, it may be time for a deload week.

I would take a full 7 days off, and then get back at it. That could be it.

How often are you meant to use creatine. According to where I bought it from, four pills in the morning then on days you workout, take an extra 2 before and 2 after a workout. So 4 on off days, 8 on workout days, that seems ridiculous

Anyone have any tips on breaking plateaus? I've hit a wall on bench, squat, and clean and I can't seem to surpass it. It's so frustrating.

I hit a wall and changed my exercise routine. I would flat bench for chest, then decided to use decline, incline and machines. Just hitting the muscles from a diffrent angle. youll know the next morning if it worked, because youll be sore like it was your first time lifting again.

Its is horribly absurd. My suggestion is to take a cycle of:

Sci-Fit Kre Alkalyn. I am taking this right now, its works and it is designed to keep a good pH level so there is no waste aka Cretanine. 4 pills a day, same for off days

Another good creatine to take which I will go back to and stand by 100 percent is called Green Magnitude by Controlled Labs. It is in drink form. Very cost effective for the amount of servings you get. It is incredibly effective and you only take it once a day with 8 ounces of water about 15 mins before your work out. Drink it once on off days. The green apple flavor is just amazing. I can't say enough good things about this creatine supplement, but Ill give you one more. While deployed, I worked out with a guy who is on the strength and conditioning staff for the Diamondbacks. I got him on this supplement and he never looked back.

As with all creatine supplements, check with your doc first to be certain its right for you. Cycle it for 12 weeks then off for 4 weeks

Ok so I want to get back to playing rugby. I've been doing regular weight training and still am. What exercises do you do. For power and explosion at gym? To improve acceleration and top end speed if possible. Up to now I've just been doing regular strength building exercises for my legs, squats, curls, lunges, leg press etc.

If your gym has platforms, I would suggest hang cleans. If they have boxes, do box jumps. If neither, do a lot of plyometrics. You know, tuck jumps, jump squats, jump lunges, etc.

Have you ever done the parachute? I don't know if you can do something like that at a regular gym, but it's incredible how much force it takes to do something like that. Down in Gainesville, I was able to run the stairs at The Swamp (Gators football stadium). I haven't found a place to do something like that up here that would allow me to do that, but that also gave me a great work-out.

I use creatine "Creakic Hardcore" - I take 6 a day on workout days.

It's confusing though. It says on no workout days take 6 when you wake up, and on workout days take 6 after you workout.

I recently started working out pretty much every day again, but I don't get why I'm supposed to take them after I workout.

Can anyone explain this to me? You'd think you would take it right befroe you workout.

Yeah, that. Doing short sprints and agility drills would help too.

Rugby combines explosion with endurance, so I have a really fun drill you could do. Sprint the distance between two telephone poles, jog to the next pole, sprint to the next, jog to the next. Really good for developing power and endurance.

Why do you need platforms for hang cleans? Our what do you mean by platform, platform to me is something you'd stand on?

I'm not sure what it's like overseas, but over here it is frowned upon to perform cleans when not on a platform. It's proper gym etiquette.

Here is a video featuring cleans on a platform.

I don't know if your gym has a platform like that, but that's typically what you do hang cleans on.

It might be to help your muscles' recovery process.

I'd say maybe 20-30 meters between cones

I don't know. I used to take the same stuff about 2 years ago and I took them before I worked out and I really started to beaf up. It also gives me more motivation to work out really hard when I'm already on it because I don't wanna waste any of it lol

I just wanna make sure I do it right

Well, I'm sure it will affect you in some way whether you take it before or after. I don't know the ingredients or anything about it so I don't know.

So you work out, what, five days a week? And take six pills a day? Just make sure to take a month off from that stuff every once in a while and drink plenty of water while doing it. It will tear your stomach up!

Oh definitley. I only take them on workout days which is is gradually becoming 5 days a week. (I just started back up last week).

It's a months supply and it costs 60$. I'm currently unemployed so I'm sure I'll take breaks from it haha. And yeah I quit drinking soda and I drink about 5 bottles of water threwout the day after I take them. I also quit smoking on New Years and my bodys starting to feel heathly again, I love it

Have you tried taking a de-load week? Sometimes your body reaches a point where it will start doing that kind of stuff to tell you it needs rest.

If you have tried a de-load week, then I recommend you switch up your routine a bit to shock your muscles. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Disappointing...

it is, I've even changed my routine since speaking to you and nothing happening. I might just be over training so going to take a full week off and completely change my whole workout then the following week. I'm going to blame it on exam stress lol
