he was one of the better corners in 09 until that injury

It's not hard to look like a stud when Frank Walker is starting in the same secondary.

Now THERE is somebody I don't miss lol

I'm glad Carr is cut and hopefully Foxworth goes so we can save even more cap space. I would be comfortable extending Webb and having Webb & Jimmy Smith as our starters heading into next season.

Ozzie said he would make the cuts before March 13th so this is right on schedule

no disrespect or anything, I do agree with the first part of your post, but let's be honest - we paid fox to play not for his contributions on the cba... and we didn't get much back for what we paid
I understand what you mean, but we had a full season of NFL last year that might not have happened without Foxy's contributions. It would have been nice having more depth at CB at times, but maybe if Foxy does come back full strength we never see guys like Cary and Gorrer develop. These things tend to work themselves out.

You can't count Cary out of that mix for the starting role.

Writing was on the wall since Webb and Cary showed up big this season.

Best of luck wherever you end up Chris, except for when you play the Ravens of course

So when Foxworth is cut, that will leave Webb and Cary as the oldest corners on our roster... And people call our defense old?

27 yr old corner in Cary it think, the only two off 30 (starters) are ed reed and ray, maybe JJ and Redding if resigned, but if not, 2 out of 11 starters

And then plenty of young talent in Webb, Jimmy, McPhee, Kruger, Cody, and so on. Its looking real good.

Just really hope a deal with Webb can be reached soon! Can't risk a team with a late draft pick, more cap room, and a need messing up our back field

Yeah, I slipped out of the mobile skin just I could neg this <deleted> post. First off, Foxworth wasn't a trade, we signed him as a free agent. Secondly, even though we overpaid for him he played well until his injury. Its a shame that so many fans treat him with this kind of disrespect. He sacrificed a lot to help the Lockout end. Not many people ever give credit for that around here.

dude he played 3 full games the 1st year he was here.

skipped the 2nd year

skipped the 3rd year

we paid him at top 5 CB money.

HE SUCKS

I'd rather bring back Carr at a cheaper price than Foxworth who hasn't played in two seasons and whose knee still isn't healed...

Good luck to him

He's still pretty young and being released so early will give him every shot to get picked up somewhere

Indy seems obvious, Pagano coached him here and in Oakland

Sad. The team can never be 100 percent the same. Sucks they couldn't end it with a Superbowl.

Remember when people were saying we could get a 5th or higher for Carr and I said he had no trade value whatsoever..

This is my told you so moment

On A Personal Level: I have no bad things to say about Carr's time here. He played his heart out every game and that's all that you can ask for as a fan. The time does feel right to move on and I support Ozzie's decision 100%. We have a stable of young talent ready to flourish. I think Gorrer is the young CB that will step up and fill Carr's role. He has a lot of upside and really started playing like a starting caliber CB in the latter part of the season. I digress, thanks for your time in Bmore Chris.

As a 's fan, Carr thank you for your time, dedication, play, mentorship of others, and leadership to the Ravens. Your professional demeanor during your tenure here and upon your exit has allowed this organization to remain one of the most respected in the NFL.
Much success is forwarded for your health and future endeavors.

It's not that we couldn't have traded him, it's that we would've had to pay his salary if he was traded. Now we don't have to pay as much. He was making a lot for a backup corner (though we didn't know he'd be backup at the time).

I have to admit I am scratching my head at the comments from the story on BR.com about giving Foxworth a second look after a physical. I hope that has something to do with freeing up cap and no dead money. Call me crazy, but I would rather have Evans back at a reduced salary.

i guess they figure you can never have enough CB depth, we've seen what injuries can do...the past few years we've been hit hard in the secondary...its like u cant have too many good pass rushers, i guess if he can return healthy at a reduced rate they might do it....or he might retire, his knee may never be good again

I would gladly take foxworth back on a restructured deal if he can fully heal from his injury

People tend to forget how long it actually takes to recover from torn acl's..
Take Webb for example.. People were beginning to question his ability to become a starter in the NFL and question his abilities when he first are back but after this past year I don't think anyone is questioning him now

If foxy could come back get healthy take a cut and return to 09 form we would have one of the better rotations in the league with Webb jimmy Cary foxy and gorrer
