hopefully he re-signs for a lower contract cause he´s one of the best pass rushers and we need him on defense

If he keeps playing like this, he's worth every dime.

well he's young, he's stingy, and he can possibly still get better. But a long term deal (5-7 years) will help our cap, and keep him here for awhile.

Hopefully they take away the Cap Salary thing next season. That way itll be easier to sign Suggs again.

Assuming that happens, it won't be until the 2010 season, which wouldn't help us this year.

we need to bookend him with better than Trevor Pryce...I think Trevor has just lost a step or two...I had hoped we would draft at DE this year but didn't.

I agree. DE, CB, and WR are our 3 biggest concerns next year.

I also think you need to add 1 extra draft pick on the OL as well.

Our OL is young, they will continue to improve. Our best players at DE, WR, and CB are all 30 or older.

One of the plays today that showed just how good suggs is was on the wildcat formation when they ran the reverse and suggs stayed backside like his assignment had him and he made the play. The guy is not just a great pash rusher but he is also incredibly disciplined and smart. He is a must sign because our premier defensive players on D are getting old despite how good they are playing.

It's critical to sign Suggs because he's far from injury prone, and there's not much good depth behind him. We still have time to get good draft acquisitions, but the way things are playing out, with a young CB (washington, and possibly a draft pick), safeties (nakamura and a BEAST in Zbikowski), we should be good in the backfield. We should, though, be worried in the front 7, with suggs, Jarrett Johnson, and Haloti Ngata the only players with good years left in their tank.

Players I fear for our defense when they retire or leave

Ed Reed Dawan Landry

Samari Rolle* Chris McAllister*
Terrel Suggs Ray Lewis * Jarret Johnson

Haloti Ngata Justin Bannan Kelly Gregg* Trevor Pryce*

The ones with the *s are the ones that are getting up in age.

Im not worried about our safety spot as we have Nakamura and Zbikowski.
We will probably need some corners. Washington can take C-Mac but who would take Rolle when they go?
Bannan and Ngata are good. Its the other 2 we need to replace when they go.

All are replacable. They replaced someone else who we onces thought we wouldnt be any good without and they will one day be replaced.

There aren't many positions that we are deeper at. We have Barnes, Gooden can play there, so can Burgess. EJ will probably move back there at some point. And McCLain is a great athlete too. We are stacked at LB and we draft better there than at any other postion.
You know that saying:' 2/3 of earth is covered by water, the other 1/3 is covered by Ed Reed'? Its not true. He bought a boat.

If anything in the above post offended you, then Its a joke!

I agree with all of those guys except Haloti. He's a beast. I'd go as far as saying he is second only to Ray and Ed in terms of importance to the D.

I wonder if he'll get that pro bowl invite this year...I can see him, Koch, Reed, Lewis, maybe McGahee, and maybe McClain, going to Hawaii.

with ray and a few others getting older it is important i think to resign suggs keep him happy we need those youngers guys on our defense now to stick around they are all play makers and we need the older ones like ray bart chris and samari to help teach those younger ones to take their spots in the future. Im hoping we resign suggs and can keep our current defense another season or two before some of those older guys decide to retire. By then the younger guys will have learned enough to easily step in and fill some big shoes left by these veterans
