Travis Taylor for me. Simply because he was a top 10 pick. And at that high, you almost have to have at least one 1000 yard season for a WR.

But I can understand why Boller is the pick because he cost us an extra first round pick. I still remmebr the back to back massive games from him against the Vikes and then the Pack where he 'broke out'.

Adan Terry is up there. Mark Clayton I am kinda iffy on - yes he was mediocre at ebst for us, but he's proven to be a decent numebr 2 or 3 for the Rams before getting injured.

I don't think he ever was a true number 1.

I actually can't believe I got this far into the thread before T. Taylor was mentioned. I think the fact that we also got Jamal in that first-round makes people overlook Taylor's shortcomings as a top-10 pick, but when a top-10 receiver's BEST season is 800 yards and 6 TD, that guy has to fall into the 'bust' category.

Boller and Travis Taylor are 1 and 1a to me, because of where they were picked.

I remember Taylor but we didn't hold onto him thinking he will eventually break. Boller was given the keys to the Lambo, crashed it and burned the motor on the rental. I get naming Taylor because of him being 5 overall and being complete utter trash but it was a swift transition when he was gone and the passing game was never really dominated by a receiver til Mason got here. Actually Quadry had a few good seasons but I'm getting off topic, it was Boller. He was the opposite of Joe, where Joe will have 3 out of 4 good games then a bad one he would have 1 good game out of 4. He also had mind control over Billick, or nekkid pictures.

Just to be clear, Jamal was taken 5th- Taylor 10th.

And we recovered pretty quickly from Boller, really. One 13-3 McNair season, one bad season, and then Flacco and four years of playoffs.

My bad, thought it was Jamal 10th and Taylor 5th. I guess it was pretty quick but if you think about it not really cause the goal wasn't achieved and we still needed a new qb 2 years after McNair originally joined. In the long run everything turned out all right though and happy with the team that's been built.

Lots of recievers on that list but I would have to agree with your assessment. I might be tempted to switch 1 & 2 though.

I would have to say Boller but mainly because of the hype he had coming from cal and how successful they had been

Kindle, and its simply because he fell down the stairs and he will never be the same.

Its a waste of a roster spot and waste of money. If he isnt playing on the Defense this yr, i say CUT him now.

Can't predict injuries... There are busts who just aren't as good as expected, and busts who get hurt and never have a chance. Should set parameters before we have a 'bust' debate. I'll never call a guy who gets hurt a 'bust'.... David Pollack was not a 'bust'... Vernon Gholston was.

Based on my expectations at time we drafted these players and the hype surrounding them during draft time....

1) Travis Taylor - I really thought he would be a star #1 WR ( I never believed Clayton could be this ) Taylor was mostly unimpressive....
2) Dan Cody - was suppose to be high motor player. ( to be honest I can't ever remember seeing him on the field for us )
3) Kyle Boller - well he set this franchise back a few years, with his erratic play and Billicks determination to make him a "franchise QB".

On a personal note:
Tavares Gooden was a huge bust for me, I hoped he could develop into the next solid LB from "the U".
The entire 2005 draft was a bust for us... Clayton was serviceable for awhile.

David Pollack had a different level of injury that prevented him from ever playing again ( he gets his own category ) But there are guys like kijiana carter and Curtis enis whom constant injuries made their careers terrible or ineffective and they are label "busts".

But I do agree that people throw the "bust label" out there too often and at times too soon and I think to be a real bust a player would have had to have high expectations of achievement or high draft status, or maybe the team made trades to acquire the player.

2) Sergio Kindle
3) Dan Cody
4) Patrick Johnson
5) Chris Redman
6) David Reed

Sergio kindle can't outrank Dan Cody on this list already. His career with us isn't over and this season he was learning the playbook to begin his career.

This time last year most people were already calling Kruger a Bust. Those same people were praising him during the season.
Kruger had to deal with DC that wasn't imaginative enough to find ways to get him on the field they made him gain weight then lose weight.

Now kindle did get injured missed an entire season, but this season was more about him learning the pro game the system the terminology ( he didn't have OTAs, mini-camp, training camp to practice and speed up learning curve ). Now this year he will be ready to see action. Kindle did look nice in his preseason action, but with no playbook knowledge couldn't see the field in regular season, mainly because he wasn't a special teamed either.

David reed was a with round pick wasn´t he? you cannot call a fifth round pick the worst pick because nobody expects anything from those guys. he was a big disappointment last year. harbs told everybody that david reed was gonna be a star in the future before last season. i cannot agree at this point. the guy is always injured and brings nothing to the table on offense...

for me one of the worst draft picks was over because there were a lot of guys that we could have had at that moment if we would´t have reached for this guy.

Boller, when I look at pictures of him and all I can think is "how many years did you cost Ray, Reed and J.O?" and to this day I still get the same sick queazy feeling remembering those plays where he would rocket the ball into triple coverage and get picked off.

At the beginning of this season I can guarantee Torrey Smith would have been on half these lists. People break out and people fall off. Thats what makes watching every week great. Its just to hard to predict what any round rookie will or will not do.

Kindle could have been a great pick had he not injured himself. You can't predict that stuff, however Boller was a bad player.
