So what were saying here is Dilfer > or = Flacco. Flacco turned Mason into a #1 WR. What did mason do in NY or Texas? Flacco cant make a receiver look good is crazy to say. Mason loved Flacco for his ability to get him the ball.
Flacco didnt turn Mason into a number 1 wideout. Mason was put up 1,000 receiving yards before Joe Flacco even became a Raven.

Yea but he wasnt the number 1 everyone is now looking for. And my point was about what happened to him once him and Flacco was not together anymore. If he was able to stay on the Ravens last season he would have been productive with Flacco. Instead he ends up retiring.

It was Boller only because he was our 1st round pick. Kindle may be up there too but we'll see how he progresses/if he plays this year.

Without a doubt Boller! Not only was he horrible on the field but his terrible play kept us from even looking at Aaron Rodgers when he came out of Cal.

Some other names for consideration: Tavares Gooden, Oneil Cousins, and Marcus Smith - all from 2008 and all with almost 0 contributions.

In Goodens defense I think he ran down AP to stop him from scoring a td in what would have been a comeback if Stevie H aka Mr. Wide Left could kick. I think Gooden would have been average-above average if he wasn't the football version of Mr. Glass.

True, he got injured all the time and never really showed any growth or progression. Perhaps it's too harsh to say he didn't contribute but he certainly didn't live up to the "he wore #52 at the U" hype - not his fault, but still.

Yeah, Smith was a terrible receiver, but the man could down punts like nobody's business.

Kyle Boller.

He had every opportunity to prove himself. The guy completely wasted our opportunity to become SB champions with the stud defense we had while he was around. All he had to be was to' be mediocre'. He was a complete dud.

If it wasn't for Kyle Boller we wouldn't have stunk enough to get high draft picks and select guys like Ngata, who sucks because he's been killing our draft stock since day 1. I'll say Ed Reed was the biggest clunker so far because at the back end of the draft, all the good players are gone and you're forced to take guys who continue to bring you towards the dreaded pick #32.

Boller would had made a hell of a wildcat/option QB though. People forget he ran in the 4.5's in the 40 and had the fastest 20 yard shuttle out of any QB or RB in the entire draft that year.

One thing to point out: Mel Kiper gave the Ravens an A for picking Kyle Boller in the draft back in '03.

At the moment it has to be Kindle, above all.

Even Boller contributed something
Right now I agree 100%. Kindle wins hands down. Sadly, I don't see that changing either.

We already won one, you really thinks it's nuts to think we could have gotten another two considering how our 2001, 2003 or 2006 seasons went?

And yeah, I think it's safe to say that having Ogden protecting Flacco instead of guys like McKinney and Oher would have made slight difference.
if we had Flacco through all these years we would have at least 1 more Superbowl win...shoot, we didnt have a QB thru Ray Lewis' and Ed's best years...Flacco came in later...we had some good teams just not the QB to get it done...until now

Kindle was a great 2nd round pick at the time that we got him. You can't predict that a guy is going to crack his scull, go deaf (1 ear), lose equalibrium, and drop a few IQ points. If the accident had never happened I think that he would be a solid contributor. As it currently is, (due to the accident), I think he will be cut. Regardless though, you can't blame that on the guys who drafted him.

Kyle boller followed closely behind by kindle then the clayton. Yes I said mark clayton, he never impressed me outside of his rookie year. He never did anytihng for us and was hurt too much and disappeared in big games. Im tempted to throw oher on this list depending on what sunday you catch me.

I blame that hiccup on Billick and his stubburness towards kyle boller. Granted we tried to make a run in 06 trading for mcnair and ultimately it lasted just 1 year but outside of that year they whiffed so bad on drafting QB's. I hate to admit this but I attribute this to Cam scouting Joe in delaware and going to his workouts. I say Cam scouted joe and then told Ozzie and John and they pulled the trigger.

Jonathan Ogden. 1st round pick and already out of the league? BUST.
He's gonna become a huge bust in Canton. I think people truly underestimate the size of his head.

People keep saying Boller, but Boller at least played some games for us. He at least handed the ball off to Jamal Lewis, and he at least quarterbacked a playoff team. He might have been terrible but he at least did something. You can't say that is worse than a guy you spent your first pick on and gives you absolutely nothing. And i think Kindle might even hit FA soon, its one thing not ever hitting the field but the Ravens don't even have this guy suit up for most games. What a waste.

Someone should do a best and worst draft pick for each round. This is Boller though in a land slide victory. The man couldn't get on the field for the Raiders after numerous qb injuries. How he's still earning a check is beyond me. While we are at best and worst, we should make an all time worst list of players who started or got more time than they should have. I don't know which ones worse, drafting Frank Walker or picking him up in FA.

Sanders was elite, though. He won a DPOY in 2007 - one of the two times he was healthy for more than 6 games in a year - the other was 2005, when he was an All-Pro.

Sanders was good, but I would hardly call him Elite. I need consitency for a guy to be Elite. He was a one year wonder.

Let's keep this from being a Flacco thread!

Kyle Boller and Dan Cody... I'll throw in Adam Terry and Musa Smith, too.
Wonder how you people feel when we give Flacco that 100m and he still doesn't get better under Cam.....

Elite *when healthy

And technically a 2-year wonder and he played well in the 2006 post-season

Okay... but this isn't a Flacco thread - take it to the 5 already-existing ones.

Well, very simple...I don't think it's crazy to call a team a dynasty if they win 3 SB in a decade, and make the playoffs nearly every other year they don't win it all. So, scoff at the idea all you want, but as I said, it is no stretch to think that we could have won two more, especially in the years I mentioned.

I realize that makes me a homer who worships Flacco and puts him on a pedastel since I said something positive about the guy, but any Ravens fan who followed football back then can tell you that the only thing our team truly needed back then was a real QB.
I'll back you on that statement. With the defense we had... Absolute possibility.
