Best Baltimore Ravens Quotes

43 posts in this topic

A while back, I started a topic about the best games in Baltimore Ravens history:

http://boards.baltim...388#entry655388

I intend for this thread be similar. Despite what some think, Baltimore Ravens Nation does not open its mouths often. We just go about our business. However, that doesn't stop us from saying a couple cool things, wether between us or directed to others. All but one of the quotes listed here is either from this past year or 2000. (2011 had some great quotes, a couple things, like the white tight end and get off the field and I told you I'm coming had to get left out.) Without further ado, here are my Top 5 quotes in Baltimore Ravens history:

10) "We don't bring flowers to the apocalypse."-6-time Pro Bowl OLB/DE Terrell Suggs in 2011 (DPLOY season), 1st of many tough Sizze quotes on this list. Some didn't even make it.

t9) "It was cool."- Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco after leading a 2011 game-winning drive in Pittsburgh against the Steelers.

t9) "Put a smile on yo face, iz a 60 minute ball game!"-13-time Pro Bowler, 2-time DPLOY, Super Bowl XXV MVP, 16-year veteran MLB Ray Lewis
8) "Sizzle, Ball So Hard University."-6-time Pro Bowl OLB/DE Terrell Suggs in 2011 (DPLOY season), in 2011 Sunday Night Football intro against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ball So Hard isn't a real college, just from a song. Suggs actually went to Arizona State University.

7) (This was continuous 'keeps it from being higher', but deserves a spot. I was looking for once- in a lifetime quotes.) "What time is it? Game time!!! What time is it? Game time? Any dogs in the house? Whoowowo! Any dogs in the house? Whoowowo!"-13-time Pro Bowler, 2-time DPLOY, Super Bowl XXV MVP, 16-year veteran MLB Ray Lewis's pregame chant

6)"'When you go in the lion's den, you don't tippy toe in. You carry a spear, you go in screaming like a banshee, you kick whatever doors in, and say, 'Where's the SOB?' If you go in any other way you're gonna lose."- Super Bowl XXXV champ HC Brian Billick

5) "Hunt! Hunt! Hunt! Don't stop hunting! Don't stop, till you got it up on ya wall!"-13-time Pro Bowler, 2-time DPLOY, Super Bowl XXV MVP, 16-year veteran MLB Ray Lewis to teammate Terrell Suggs during Harbowl I in 2011.

4) "We're no offensive juggernaut, but we don't have do be. If we score 17 points, Ray Lewis and the D will make it stick."-3-time Super Bowl champ, multiple Pro Bowler, HOF TE Shannon Sharpe in 2000 (Super Bowl XXXV winning season for Baltimore), describing the conservative offense and dominating defense that season. He is correct.

3) "I cannot tell you, how proud I am of this organization...To the people of Baltimore and the state of Maryland, this belongs to you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you."- Art Modell (NFL Owner from 1961 to 2003), immediatly after the Ravens won Super Bowl XXXV.

2) "God may own his soul but I own his [butt]."- 6-time Pro Bowl OLB/DE Terrell Suggs in 2011 (DPLOY season), describing his dominance of Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger.

1) "You can't hurt this! I'm a machine jerk! You carry my jock!"-13-time Pro Bowler, 2-time DPLOY, Super Bowl XXV MVP, 16-year veteran MLB Ray Lewis, screamed after making a tackle against the Tampa Bay Buccanears in 2001.

Feel free to discuss and/or add anything else. Enjoy!

(P.S, there might already be a thread about this somewhere, but it's probably pretty old because I haven't recently seen it so if there is one don't bother me about it!!!)

This chant is my favorite because it reminds me of our Super Bowl year.

Number 5 is really my personal favorite. It was when he was out of the game from injury and rallying his soldiers. Plus it's just classic Ray.

"He's done" Ray Lewis

He screamed that to the Steelers sideline in 2008 after he broke Mendenhalls shoulder on IMPACT. It was the first Ravens steelers game of the season, and rookie RB Mendenhall decides to start talking smack promises a career game that day. Well Ray had other plans and put him out of the game

Sizzle quote was good too "We definitely like to send our messages to rookie running backs who think they've made it." Suggs said. "We did a good a job of sending a message."

Its a shame Ray didnt break Mendenhalls hands off after those tweets about osama bin laden.

There is some great Ray quotes in this. Love when he is talking about Rex.
"We're talking about the Jets like we're talking about the Saints. Yap Yap Yap the bottom line is you gotta buckle up your chin straps"

I like the Flacco jab at his critics. “I’m sure if we win, I’ll have nothing to do with why we won according to you guys.”

Not exactly a quote but Ray Lewis just putting that index finger to his lips and saying "Shhhhhhsh" to the Titans crowd after he took the ball away from Eddie George and ran it back for 6. That was in my opinion, immortal
