Jason La Canfora tweeted a good point: "One drawback for Babin for some teams will be cap space -need about $2m to claim him. a team like Ravens, who need rusher, wouldnt have it" ... so basically not a chance

He was a pro-bowler just last year, correct?

How expensive would he be?

I think he was just a victim of being on a totally uninspired team this season, not a lack of or drop-off in talent......
Even though he is a 4-3 DL, I still wouldn't mind working him in as a rotational pass-rusher.

But with that being said. I knew there would be no way he'd be a Raven. First he would be too costly to the cap and second he'll get claimed well before us.

I dont really think we need a pass rusher tbh. Suggs and Kruger have been pretty good. It wouldn't hurt to have another guy, but it's not looking as dire as earlier in the season.

Just looking at an article by PFT about Salary Cap and it seems some good 4-3 teams have good cap room. Now that salary cap was updated as of September 7th so I don't know what it would be now but it seems some teams have room to claim him.

The 49ers have signed LB Navorro Bowman to a five year deal extending him through 2018. Bowman was going to be a Free Agent after the 2013 Season but the 49ers are locking him up now.

The deal is worth $45.25 Million with $25.5 Million Guaranteed.

if Babin does clear waivers, I'd expect the Ravens to pounce by the way[/background]

I love how the media thinks we have problems when we don't. So we would pounce on Babin when we have Suggs back andKruger and Upshaw are playing well. Babin would not fit with us, he is not a 3-4 DE, only a 4-3 DE.

Here is the Top 12 in the Waiver Order:

1. Chiefs; 2. Jaguars; 3. Eagles; 4. Raiders; 5. Browns; 6. Panthers, 7. Chargers; 8. Bills; 9. Titans; 10. Lions; 11. Cardinals; and 12. Jets.

I guarantee Jason Babin will not make it past Cleveland who needs another pass rusher opposite of Sheard. Also Joe Banner who use to be in Philly is now in Cleveland.

Steelers need to sign Lagarette Blount.

That is all.

He should be available probably in the offseason. No way either one of us go after him though

Kind of sad 49ers have Bowman locked up. Would LOVE to have him, he's a beast
Kinda sad that the 49ers players are able to recognize they are close to a Super Bowl and that something special is brewing and are deciding to sign extensions with the 49ers while we have players who leave for the money and doesn't want to stay to build a Super Bowl contender.

They have absolutely no leverage though. They don't have the means to re-sign Revis and even if they did there are legitimate contenders that could match them dollar for dollar.

They can either have a minimal effort, just recovering from injury Revis, or whatever a team's willing to offer them.

Ive looked for a thread for this but haven't found one yet and since I recently became a member of the flock (been in the shadows for years, just reading and finally decided to create an account) I cannot create a thread yet. So I know this is a little soon considering we still have a game to play, but who are some possible/realistic FAs you can see or want to see in a Ravens jersey? Its quite obvious Ozzie and Co won't break the bank for anybody, especially since resigning our own FAs are top priority right now. Again who seems like some players you can see Ozzie targeting on the market?
