I guess we are using this thread, I noticed you made two Free Agency threads. Did you have a problem posting it and that's why you posted it twice?

Anyway, this is a good saver by putting everything in here. I was just about to make a thread for Brooks signing a 6 year deal with the 49ers until I saw this thread. Very good deal by the 49ers to lock up Brooks. Brooks and Aldon Smith are going to make for a great pass rushing duo there in San Fran. They have plenty of cap room, and now they need to lock up Alex Smith as quickly as they can. I hope the 49ers snag Mike Wallace away from the Steelers, then I can root for Mike Wallace lol.

Add that to bowman and willis, best LB group in the nfl, that and the browns resigning are both great decisions.

a 1st Round Tender on Cary Williams? I can see it on Webb without a doubt but on Cary, no. I would tender Cary a 3rd rounder.

Am I the only surprised by the fact that no team has used the Franchise Tag on any player yet? Teams can not place the Tag on anyone after March 5th, and it's now Feb 29th. These teams need to hurry up and either get long term contracts done or figure out who they will use the tag on real quick.

I'm sure teams already know who they're going to tag or if they're going to tag anyone at all. As for long-term contracts, rushing them only weakens leverage.

Also Mike Wallace is most likely to receive a 1st Round Tender, not the Franchise Tag. Adam Schefter confirmed this on Sports Center. With Hines Ward cut, I really now want to see someone offer Pittsburgh a 1st for Wallace because they would have no offense. Come on 49ers... come on Jim use that 30th pick on Mike Wallace. We'll forgive you for giving the Steelers another first round pick in this case.

Steelers release DE Aaron Smith, per Schefter.

Now I think this is a good move for the Steelers. I thought Ziggy Hood played well when Smith was injured and thought Hood should have been starting by now.

I find it interesting that the Raiders tagged Branch considering they are over the cap and have to make some cuts to get under the cap.
