Smith claims he played with a tear in his groin the entire season but got used to it. He's started rehab and has his sights set on improving on his 50-catch, 841-yard, seven-touchdown rookie campaign. 'Joe [Flacco] and I are still getting better and I'm excited about what is going on here,' said Smith. 'I've got to do a lot of stretching, my hamstring has gotten tight. Last year, I couldn't open up and go get the ball as well as I'm used to. But my expectations are greater than they were a year ago. I'm ready to step up and play a bigger role.

A double sports hernia, iirc.

Looking around on the interwebs, it says a 6-8 week recovery is normal. So, all things willing, he should be good to go in no time.

I truly believe Torrey will be our #1 WR. I love this kid's attitude and everything else about him. A full offseason of OTAs and camp will make him into even more of a beast. Can't wait.

I'm not worried about the surgery. He'll be just fine.

I think he got it when he was running away from the earthquake

He had a bilateral herniorrhapy, and because he is an athlete it was probably just some scoping really which is like a month long at most recovery time...trust me Im a doctor haha

But I dont think he looked like he was hurt at all, I guess he played hurt but that just shows you how strong he is.

If you see Torrey in the woods fighting a bear, don't save him. Save the bear.

Is it the same bear that wanted to hang out with Ray Lewis?

I don't know anything about nothin': Could this injury have been part of the reason it looked like Torrey was limping around a lot last season? I thought it was cramps, but if it was this hernia thing then that could be fixed with the surgery.

It looked to me like Torrey kept hurting his leg, so that would still be cramps. Oh, well. He played well through it this last year, so it must not have been that bad.

wow, who knew?

He is going to be even more awesome next season. Work on the hands a little bit and eat some bananas to cut down on the cramping.
