@provemewrong2052 maybe because vick moves right into the pass rush every time like an idiot. mathis would look better w/o vick. and btw, vick getting mangled has everything to do with the oline collectively, not just mathis. infact, most of the pressure was the blindside. peters and mathis on the left side were a great tandem last year. the right side of their line was not up to par.

I think Mathis is going to be great for our team, he's got plenty of time to learn our run scheme and he didn't give up a sack at all last year. I'm not worried about his age either, he doesnt have much wear and tear on his body.

I can't wait to see what our youthful defense looks like this year, I know our younger players are going to step up and make themselves known. Plus building through the draft is the best way to build a team. You need the perfect balance of youth and veterans and that is exactly what we will have this season.

McClain is set to visit the Broncos. We'll see soon if we have any interest in trying to retain at least one of our 4 key UFAs.

Maybe people are not understanding, if we intend to keep rice, flacco, and webb we can be spending money on players the team feels are replacable. It sucks, i get it, but every team cant afford all there players its a business

We'll see what happens in the draft. I don't think it's a lock that we'll go O-line in round 1. Like usual, I expect Ozzie to take the best overall player, whether that be a linebacker, safety, wide receiver, O-lineman, whatever. Then he gets the cheap vets that get cut to fill in the gaps. Happens ever year, and most importantly, works every year.

@PurplePanda dannell ellerbe is a rfa with a 2nd round tender.. i said i dont see why we tendered ellerbe INSTEAD of mcclain. if we gave mcclain a 2nd or 3rd round tender, someone would have given at least a 3rd for him, and with this draft there is so much we could do for our team with a 2nd or 3rd. for instance, i honestly hope a team with a high-mid 2nd rounder snatches cary williams from us, and i hope jimmy smith pans out and we re-sign webb. because resigning webb makes our secondary a strength, and were deep there, so to get a 2nd rounder for him would be amazing in a year where we need help at o-line and LB and we can get HUGE quality for both positions in the 2nd round this year. and im sayin this because cary MAY go with a 2nd rounder, ellerbe wont.

What a horrible mistake for me to make. I apologize for not seeing this as I was watching the "ten worst teams ever" on the NFL channel when this move was made and missed it. Thank you for straightening me out. I feel like Steve Bischotti did when Lee Evans dropped the ball. Thanks again. Sincerely yours, Ravenpic.

If we haven't been able to sign Redding, JJ, and Grubbs back, then we should have money to retain McClain. I really hope we keep this guy, if we lose him, that will be the guy im most upset about. I think he would be the best fit to replace Lewis since learning under him for 6 years...

@JoeyFlex5 sorry for causing confusion, but like what @TheHalotiMaster said, Mcclain is an UFA and you can't put tenders on UFAs. Only RFA or restricted free agents can be tendered like Webb, Williams and Ellerbe who are all RFA.
