We gave up a 3rd round draft pick for Boldin. He has started every game and leads our WRs in receptions and yards. In Arizona he played for a pass first team, so of course his numbers are down on our more balanced team. It just totally galls me for someone to say he hasn't worked out at all. Name any other 3rd round WR we ever had that was better.

Actually it was for two 3rd round picks and a 4th round pick. It can "gall" you all it wants to with what I am saying but the proof are in his numbers and his drops and not able to get separation from corners. Everything I am saying is 100% accurate and correct, how many 1,000 yard seasons did Mason have with us and our more rounded offense? I am a die hard Ravens fan and ever since we've became a team the only position that we haven't found success in is at the WR position rather it be draft or getting players out of the prime ala Anquan Boldin...

I hear my dad talk about the days when players would stay loyal to their team. Apparently money is everything nowadays. just sayin

Oh and here is a little tid bit, but Boldin missed our last 2 regular season games to remove scar tissue from his knee. Please refer to facts and not things that you just feel like posting

@pOundItRay27, your dad was probably talking about the days when professional players would have to work at other jobs during the offseason just to make a living. Nowadays, players have the oppurtunity to make several million dollars and never have to work a real job in their life. Money can talk really loud for these guys.

On another topic, I think we should go really hard after Jason Brown now that he's cut. He could play center and then we could either get that Mathis guy that was on the Eagles or get Konz. If nobody good is at 29 in the 1st, I think we should trade back into the early 2nd and get Konz if he's all that he's hyped up to be. Jason Brown could be a more than capable starting center (much better than Birk) and Konz could play guard and we could groom him to become our starting center since we would probably just give Brown a 2 year contract. That's what I would like to happen but we will probably end up resigning Birk and getting Mathis. I sure hope Mathis can stay healthy or else our interior line is going to be even more of a weakness than last season. Of course this is all hypothetical since he has not signed with us (yet).

Speaking of hypotheticals, I said this in another post but since the Redskins got a bunch of wrs (and will probably add another), they will most likely cut Santana Moss. I think it would be a nice move to pick him up. I'm not sure if he can return kicks and punts since he might be a little up there in age (at least compared to most special teams players), but if he could that would kill two birds with one stone. He used to be a really good wr and that was with not much of a qb (I think they had Jason Campbell when Santana had a few good seasons), but nobody can do well with a bad McNabb, Rex Grossman, and John Beck as their qb. Again, this is all hypothetical but then again there's not much to talk about since we haven't signed anyone yet. I'm trying to be patient though because I know Ozzie will find us some sweet deals on some quality players once the dust settles.

Get ready to welcome back Lee Evans to the Ravens roster. just my opinion.

There's alot worse options... Give me Evans over Royal all day! I just hope we start to pull the trigger on somebody...

For those wondering how good he is, He is considered the best guard by PFF. Heres a link to a nice little picture to put it into perspective.

Simpled down. Better than Grubbs, Cheaper than Grubbs. He also has one hell of a personality.

and one hell of a work ethic

Better than Grubbs? Wasn't he on the o line that let Vick get whacked every down? If he was that good he would be on his 4th team in 7 seasons

Mr ManHattan, Your right. That was completely Mathis' fault, right? He gave up every sack? He didnt give up a sack, all year. Do your research before you post. The right side was the problem, not the left. Not to mention, Vick holds on to the ball too long, and trys scrambling every other player.

he had a breakout year? So what, doesnt mean he didnt have an excellent year last year.

Looking good for Mathis, and for those saying he sucks, why would he be considered the 3rd best Guard in FA? A lot of experts are saying hes even better than Grubbs but Grubbs was just valued more because of age.

I would like to know the word on McClain. Are we trying to keep him or what???

And another thing, the first wave of FA is about over, i think its about that time where the Ravens start pulling the trigger...

He is 30 years old, and last year was his 1st year starting. His age is not a issue, no wear and tear on his body. Eagle fans are some of the stupidest in the NFL. Mathis is much better than Grubbs. If anything, Grubbs was a consitent, never great Guard.

@ProveMeWrong2052 @MrManhatton

Some of you guys are so frustrating. Evan mathis, Didnt give ANY sacks last year. Zip, nada, zilch, none. He didnt let anybody, "Mangle" Vick.

Face it, half of it is Vicks fault for trying to make plays with his feet and scramble every play.
