I would love to see us pick up LB-GRANT (49ers) and maybe a S like Bob Sanders or Q. Demps... that would leave the D (maybe even better then last season)

Then look to fill Grubbs spot.
With one or two additions like that and a solid draft... I think we could be better everywhere!

CAM... had a great WR in Steve Smith...a good 2nd option in Brandon Lafell -Two good RB's in Deangelo and Stewart (plus mike goodson)... they had some weapons -injuries and Olin play hurt the Panthers... they did make some nice addtions and Cam seems to have some weapons... so overall not a horrible place to be?
The Skins... OLine issues... Helu looks good at RB and they seem to have made an effort inthe WR department... looks okay for RG3 on the surgface but Shanahan with QB's ...IDK scheme???

Yep, we will... hopefully not against us :)

Last time I checked this was the Baltimore Ravens web site. Who cares about the traitor Pagano and the worthless Colts.

... you say right after you talk about Anderson and the Bills

Whoa thats a lil bit of a stretch dude.
Shannon Sharpe? Rod Woodson? Steve Mcnair? Deion Sanders? Derrick Mason?
Other than Sharpe and Woodson, we never got to a superbowl. I'm not saying I don't like getting any players, but I don't rely on FA to get us to the superbowl. I just prefer to draft and groom guys in. Many coaches who were great have stated they would rather groom players in their system rather than sign FA. Would I love to get some top name players who could instantly help out the team, like Woodson and Sharpe? Sure. But those are HoF players, how often are you really going to get HoF caliber guys in FA? Not often. Deion didn't really do much while he was with us, played great but didn't make enough of an impact to take us anywhere. Mason played great, so did McNair, but again, no superbowl. Look at the Eagles, got top players last year, where'd they get? Nowhere. Most top teams that make it don't do so through FA. Don't believe me? Look at the Giants, Saints, Lions, Steelers, among others. While teams like the Browns, the Dolphins, the Bills, and others go all out in free agency, they get nowhere. Who went all out last year in the FA and got anywhere with their additions? I can't think of any.

We have had valuable pick ups, I can't deny that. No one can. I'm just saying it's not the end of the world if we don't get anyone.

One common theme with all of these FA Updates! None of these players that visited.....signed.
These teams that had the "scratch" are the ones signing these higher profile players. We have the money to possibly(?) sign our own FAs. We as fans should stay attuned to that. We will be lucky to bring back one ,or 2 more , of our own FAs. It's not all gloom and doom, but it is what it is.
If we can retain McClain or Ayanbadejo or Brandon McKinney , or use the money to extend Webb? Then that would be a positive thing.

Maybe it is not about players like Deion, Mcnair, Mason,etc.. playing good enough to single handedly take us to the SuperBowl... THis is a team sport and if we can get enough of those type of guys... it will be difficult to stop us from reaching the pinnacle of the sport. We added some players through FA over the past several years adn each year have taken a step closer.. we seem to be on the door step and one or two critical peices to this puzzle can put us over the top! FA is not the only answer but can be a great tool to get us to where we want to be if managed right!

@steelcityraven vinny curry is a 1st rounder. no way he goes in the 4th round. same for stephen hill, he won't be at the bottom of the 2nd, could be as high as the bears at 15 overall. and lastly, burfict is a reach in the 3rd round. we wouldn't reach for him there when he is clearly a 5th rounder possibly undrafted with his horrible combine and pro day.

Forgot that we do not have our 4th pick... thanks

Burfict will be drafted... the kid can play ball regardless of his times. He is a play maker and although his combine has dropped him... the NFL scouts will still recognize that the kid can be a nice addition. I personally think that his fall could be to our advantge!

@steelcityraven, im on the same page as you are on Burfict... All analyst have in going late in the 5th, if so then I strongly believe that we should scoop him up.
As for a RB, I like Turbin, out of Utah State, but he's projected to go in the 3rd :/

What in the world are the RAVENS going to do, im hoping no one in the N.F.L draft Pass Rushers so we can pick them all up. Maybe we will get lucky because alot of teams got their Pass Rushers in F.A, Only thing we did was lose players.

Should have kept Redding, that is the one guy that i was hoping we would keep out of everyone we lost. We only have so many Draft picks and Pass Rushers are not the only position we need.

Honestly , it looks like the RAVENS are looking like a team that is rebuilding their team. Which was not the case at all, but now with all the players we have lost and have not gain any. It sure as heck looks lie it

Someone must have put some bad info out on the Ravens or OZ is being way too cheap. All of a sudden no one wants to play in Baltimore. I have never seen it be this difficult to retain or sign new players.

You are always rebuilding, in a sense....every year. We had a glut of FAs and we couldn't possibly keep them all, with the Cap Space we had. Rice's Franchise tag reduced it. The 3 RFAs tenders have reduced it.
We will end up OK because these guys in the Front Office know how to recognize talent. Whether it be the latter part of Free Agency. The Draft or the Unrestricted and Undrafted Free Agents available after the Draft. This is why we've gone to the Playoffs, the last 4 years.

People think we are rebuilding, but i definitely do not believe that. We are letting players wallk that are in the 30s people, besides Grubbs. Johnson and Redding can be replaced, especially Redding. McPhee can bring more pass rushing ability, and Jones can bring the run stopping.

Kruger is a better pass rusher by far than Johnson is, but against the run is where we will be hurting, but it remains to be seen whether Kruger can do that or not because he hasn't had a chance.

The other people we lost were backups, so how are we rebuilding?????

All this freaking out. It's the same thing every year, all the big name guys sign somewhere else and people start writing us off for the year. We'll be just fine, younger guys will step up, and we'll get a steals in free agency a little later on. It happens every. single. year.

You can't keep everyone from the previous Season. We had 12 FAs this year and we lost some vets who have been around for close to a decade.
I like Kruger and I think he found his right weight and position, after his first couple of years. They Draft these players to let them develope and then they take over. Or they are released.....lol That is the nature of the beast. We just happen to develope more beasts ....than not ! That is why you Draft certain players.......to have depth and replenish your Roster.

I think being in the playoffs, although a huge accomplishment for any team, it is expected for a team with as much talent as the Ravens have had during that period. Failing to have at least one Superbowl ring during that era is actually a colossal failure.

Green-Ellis has signed with the Bengals.

I guess even a good Green-Ellis is still better for us to have as an opponent than a good Benson was...

there's a cheap joke about the Bengals and law firms to be made here, but I'm gonna leave it alone XD

Lions have been to no one's superbowl in recent history, they just had their first winning season in forever.
The Saints have won ONE superbowl in franchise history (finally) and have since been knocked out by the 7-9 Seahawlks, blown out by the browns and rams, and most recently kicked out the divisional by Alex Smith and the 9ers.
Steelers are not devoid of Free Agents, Clark was a former Redskin, Harrison was with us for a while, i promise there are more.

Winning a superbowl is hard no matter how you add players to your team, to dismiss Free Agents as ineffective simply because their acquisition didnt lead directly to a Superbowl is a little hyperbolic. We fielded a lot of rookies and homegrown products this year and didnt get any closer than we have been either

Houston picked up Jonathon Joseph, Danieal Manning, and Wade Phillips and finally got over the hump for their first Playoff berth.
Couple of defensive plamakers made all the difference for them.

I know the Front Office has a free agency plan, and in reality we have only lost 3 starters, 2 of which were aging. I would just like to know what this plan is though. They always say if you really want someone don't let them leave (i.e. : Mario Williams was not allowed to leave Buffalo, and they signed him).

I have faith in my man OZ. I just feel like it would be nice to get an update or two.

So what are players now using the Ravens as some ploy as some stopover to a bigger contract or something that's been happening all during this process I can't believe the Ravens are that broke and/or cheap to have not been able to attract some free agent,it seems as soon as they leave Baltimore they go right on signing at the next stop! I've always said the Ravens should address these issues in the draft as opposed to signing some guy who thinks to much of themselves just because they have a year with good stats! Who was Mark Anderson before last year? I trust Ozzie knows what he is doing, but just tell me is it length, the amount, what everybody has a #,and I know it's not my money to spend, but like Ralphie[for short]a little info. would lessen the anxiety!

@ravefan52,just what is our type of signing,I can see what you're trying to say if you mean he doesn't fit the Ravens mold as a player[he doesn't play like a Raven],or he has other issue which doesn't fit well with front office and /or personnel,in which case then why bother for both parties involved,is that's what discussed at these visits,or just money, what??
