I agree talent such as there's can be replaced but the knowledge can't be right away. A player with less talent but knows the system is better than a very talented player who doesn't. Example: Jimmy Smith. We can probably agree that he might be the most athletically gifted corner we have but mental farts cause him to blow coverages and consequentially give up TD's. Not saying I am really worried but I also don't dismiss 4 year vets like Ruki and Zibby as nobodies. Oz will do his usual work.

Wow.... this is rediculous. What the hell is going on in our FO right now? Are they awake? Ray N Ed came back to win a SB not to rebuild again. It looks like we are rebuilding our team this year.

How are we Rebuilding? Rebuilding is what you call going on in Indy. If we was to rebuild, We would be cutting Ed and Ray,.

Some of you guys complaining and losing trust in Ozzie is starting to make me mad. Didn't any of you guys see what happened last offseason? We dumped a bunch of our starters and either got cheap replacements or moved guys up the depth chart. And what happened? The replacements did as well or better than the guys they replaced. I would love to keep most if not all of our veteran FAs but sometimes you have to let guys go or at least let them test the market. Its not like any of our guys have signed with other teams yet, and for all you know we could keep all of them (highly unlikely though). Lets just be patient, if we resign some of them, thats good. If they go somewhere else, oh well, we'll find somebody to replace them like we always do. And for those of you asking why we never go out and sign these superstar players (like Mario Williams) or make trades for superstars (like Marshall), its because we already have tons of stars on our team that we have to pay. Suggs, Rice, Ngata, Flacco, Reed, Boldin, Lewis all either have or will have pretty substantial contracts and we can't exactly afford to get another guy that will demand top dollar. You see teams like the Bucs and Redskins making all these big moves for high priced FAs. But how many superstars do they have on their team that they have to pay? Not many and nowhere near as many as us. Thats why they have enough cap space to find all their superstars in free agency (even though that usually doesn't work well because not a ton of players do well in one place and replicate their production in another place). I'd rather find our superstars in the draft where we can get them to play for cheap and then decide if we want to pay them top dollar. Last point, for the few people saying that the Ravens might have a tough time making the playoffs next season: one, it is hard every year making the playoffs because only 12 out of 32 teams make it each season but us as fans have been lucky to have a great team for the past 4 seasons, two I think we will have just as great a team as last season if not better (especially if

yea i think we have been watching the same team for 16 years...i am a die hard ravens fan..i also have a right to voice my opinion ..and all you guys can keep saying "In oz we Trust"!! but i will venture to say we will be lucky to be in the play offs next season.. we pull in these young guys and spend the big money to train them to be the great players to what ??? Let other teams take them from us..It just seems to me ,that if we take the time & money to train them how to play ravens football then they need to find ways to pay these guys to stay..WE aren't a football factory.."LOL" we make them great so you can take them from us to win championships . Come on it has to get at you just a bit if your a true fan!!!

flacco and rice will hog up alot of cap space and the front office knows that there hands are tied because of this so they are letting the 2nd tier and over 30years old guys sign elsewhere. i posted a few days ago that it would not surprise me if we let boldin 6million, reed 7million and lewis go after next season. lewis most likely will retire but the other 2 will get cut to save cap space for us 2 sign our younger players. alot of you negged me about these comments but watch and see. if the colts can cut the great peyton manning than we can cut the great ed reed and lewis. its all about winning my friends.

I say, as far as defense is concerned, bring on the youth movement. I'd rather give some rookies playing time with Ray n Ed rather then wait till they are done. Take care of the O-line through free agency. Draft defense and a WR (not 1st though). The only move (or lack of) that worries me so far is re-signing Birk, i wonder why i hear no talk of starting Gurode at center, man was a 5 time pro bowler

How many players that played great for us over the years have we let go and really lit it up for other teams?? Everytime one of them gets overpaid elsewhere they eat cap space from other teams that couldve been more wisely spent. And does anyone really believe that Ozzie is sitting back and wondering "Why are our free agents signing with other teams when we havent made an offer to them yet? Wait, when does free agency start?" I believe everything is going according to plan. The only move (or lack of) that worries me is re-signing Birk

Yeah looks like we are gonna have quite a few compensatory picks in 2013. But being one game away from the Super Bowl I could hardly care about next years draft. I thought we were gonna make the push to get to the Super Bowl not just the the play-offs. Looks like we will be going on the road again in January. Yes we do have a consistent pattern of being in contention every year. For once I would like to see a shift if only once and make a move or two thats gonna get us those critical extra wins and home play-off games like when we got Steve McNair but no Receivers to go along with. Ed and Ray deserves a Super Bowl together. If I'm Ed right now and puttin my health on the line and looking at all these players leaving. I would be like what the heck is going on around here. All I hear is that there is a plan. So what is it?? Bringing in players so they can use us as leverage to get more money from their team.

They acuatlly have Evan Mathis better than Big Fat Ben. We better sign him then so Average Joe isn't running for his life!

Birk better be in much better condition than he was during the end of last season. Wilfork was manhandling him and Yanda. We need to sign some playmakers pronto!

Whats all the worry it will work itself out.One thing I'm shocked about players not wanting to play for this team. If I wanted to win and have a chance to get to the super bowl this is the team. I guess at the end of the day Money wins out over winning for some players.

That's it @ravne05.
It's a business now and all about the paycheck for a lot of players.
I guess I don't blame them too much though. Many of them don't make super star paychecks anyways. It's just a select few.

The Ravens really need to jump on bringing McClain back. It's pretty obvious that McClain's Denver meeting probably wasn't that amazing meeting that players look for in FA so now might be the time to get him back in Baltimore and stop the bleeding before the Ravens turn into a 9-7 or 10-6 type team. You can only draft so much and some guys on the roster aren't a guaranteed sure thing to step up and be great. This is where the Ravens have to determine whether to rebuild for success two years down the road or to finish what they started and finish the job appropriately.

I wouldn't call him big fat. Just remember, he's going to the team that will pay him to hurt people. LOL!

"McClain really just had a physical and is not expected to sign today." Does this mean McClain is going to sign with the Broncos some other day? I hope not.

Looks like all we are doing is losing our talent and trying to keep dead weight to me.

Im sick of hearing us trying to go after a WR, there isnt a WR out their, they were all taken. I don't care much for Royal, he isnt that good imo. He is actually a step down from Lee Evans.

How bout this, we Bump Lq. Williams to 3rd WR. Problem solved. Now we focus any Pass Rusher that is worth a look. Not even sure who is out there honestly.

@PeRK82 - I disagree with your assessment on Wide Receiver. We need another fast receiver. LaQuan is not the speed guy. He and Doss are hands guys that will fit in the slot when Boldin is gone. We need speed. Whether it is draft time, or Eddie Royal (he would be great in the return game), we need speed!

These players that are leaving for more money, must not be that committed to winning!! Thats probably why Oz is letting them walk! If I was a player and had the chance to play for a superbowl contender, you better believe I would take that over a million or two!! Thats why the Patriots had that great Run. There players took pay cuts and restrucsured, so they could have a Dynasty team.Happiness is worth more then money, and I can't understand how you can be happy playing for a losing team!!
