Wouldn't mind but he seems like he might be too expensive. Also, this will probably be moved into one of the other wr threads.

No, Hes gonna price out of our range. I think we will take a Wr in the draft .. we might also sign a free agent wr .. but they would need to be right value for the right price.

Wrong player, wrong price.

I wouldn't mind getting a WR via draft or FA though -- just not him

I'm done with FA wrs, would rather just draft one... Or go after Meachum if reasonably priced.

If it was Hakeem Nicks I would say hell yes but we don't have the cap room.
Agreed... Nicks is in that Dwayne Bowe range in terms of size and talent. Granted, we never sign that kind of guy since T.O. turned us down. We've traded for a few guys (Boldin, Evans), but we don't entertain WR's as free agents... unless they're Derrick Mason caliber or less.

No offense to you for making this topic, bro. Just a disclaimer:

I am so sick of everyone asking about every possible veteran free agent WR. Look: let's just try to see what we have with Doss, Williams, Smith, & Reed (he won't be here, but still). I want us to grow our own and stop looking at these expensive FA WRs that may do nothing in our system. I want to draft some WR.

Now if Moss or even Wayne come here on the cheap, then that's OK. Other than that, I want no other vet FA. Stay away from Jackson (both of them), Bowe, and all those other guys. The only WR I would want is Calvin Johnson. I don't even want Welker.

Btw, I know Megatron isn't a FA.

IF..IF he comes cheaply, hes been linked to the ravens somewhat due him being a 3rd WR, something that we are looking to add. and with him being only 25 years old he can surely build chemistry the longer hes in the offense.

If hes a 3rd WR demanding top dollar then he can certainly kiss Baltimore goodbye as a suitor. between the two Players... Manningham vs Pierre, Manningham is just gonna demand too much than we willing to give. Ozzie is one of if not the Smartest GM's in the game today, and he has told everyone that WR is a position they intend to upgrade, whether it be through FA or the Draft.

to me Pierre would a ideal fit and what we are looking for....either him or Reggie Wayne. but Wayne is more of a temporary solution , not long term. Pierre fits that bill with longevity with him only being 25 or so.

Why don't we just give the lions our next three 1St round picks for Megatron and his 20 mil cap hit and be done with it!
Or we could draft his little brother bumble bee aka Stephen Hill...

He wants the money probably 5-7 millon dollars. I'd rather keep Lee Evans and restructured his contract.

I'm with ya on giving our guys a chance (although I don't think reed is done in Baltimore yet). Would rather restructure Evans contract than bring in a fa wr like that.

I don't understand why we're not making a run at Wallace.. even if we aren't serious about it at least make Pitts think we are. Offer him a lengthy deal and make Pitts somehow clear even more cap space to match that deal.. its already so messy over there not sure why we arent doing this.

We can get Robert Meachem for cheap. 6'2"/210 pounds with a sub 4.4 time, good hands, and great instincts.
Hey we agree on something, I would love for Meachem to come here.

If I were Mario Manningham or NYG I'd stay put, especially after Super Bowl 46 and the role Manningham played. Anyway, I don't really feel the need to upgrade the receiving core as much as a lot of people on here. So probably not. But if we decide to get rid of Lee Evans and Mario's still available. we should try to get him. That being said, I'm not 100% sure cutting/trading Evans is the right call anyway. He finally seemed to be catching on in the playoffs with Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco before that dumb drop. If we were looking for a WR, I'd prefer Robert Meachem.
