Peyton should retire and be an analyst or a reff? lol
Or he probably could be the new Billy Mays and do a bunch of commercials endorsing a bunch of different products.

According to numerous people on twitter, Peyton Manning was cleared to resume his career.
Yup, here's the ESPN news article on it:

http://espn.go.com/n...sume-nfl-career

There's no way the Ravens bring him in because that would all but guarantee Joe leaving... and I'd rather have Joe the next 8-10 years than Manning for 1 or 2 (although with our defense that could mean at least one SB appearance)... although, given the fact Cam is our OC, no way Manning would want to deal with that. So, yeah, it ain't happening!

Yeah no doubt. It would also set us back financially. I don't think our FO would target him anyway with as much confidence as they have in Joe.

I love Joe Flacco, and fully believe hes the kind of QB who can take you to the SB.

But boy, unless you have an Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees type QB, it is very tempting to go after a now apparently healthy Peyton Manning. (not saying we should, just food for thought)

Jim Irsay is tweeting that Peyton hasn't passed a physical with the Colts yet. I'm sure he's hoping Peyton fails so he doesn't have to pay him.

It's deciding whether you'd rather have a really good shot for the next two, maybe three years with Manning and then having to find the future QB again or sticking with Flacco with whom we can be in the running for the next 5+ years.

Judging by Ozzie's comments on weighing up the impact a signing can have both in the present and in the future I don't think it's the kind of move he'd make simply because it could mess up the long term potential in this team.

Look at my original post. I didn't. You did.

They're going to be negotiating a new deal with Flacco this off-season. I think that speaks of the direction this team intends to go (as in Manning-less).

Sure Manning has been cleared to play by doctors but indeed he hasn't passed any team's physical. And even if he does, he'll never be the same player again.

Jim Irsay is denying the report that Peyton has been cleared to play.
“Peyton has not passed our physical nor has he been cleared to play for The Indianapolis Colts,” Irsay said early Friday on his Twitter page. “Team statement coming on Friday.”
It's going to be very interesting offseason if Mannings is cleared to play; I think it's going to bid war if he's going to FA....

Imagine this for a moment: Belicheck trades for Manning from the Colts, then pulls a Tom Landry and rotates Manning and Brady every play of the game. Sportscenter would just be renamed Patcenter and the population of Indianapolis would be silent with horror for the next ten seasons.

Major Report: Manning may be interested in playing for the Texans.
“Someone I know who is close friends with the Manning family says Peyton is definitely interested in possibly coming to the Texans. Peyton will be released by the Colts early next month and will be a free agent. The person who knows the Mannings says Peyton wants to play on a team that has a chance of going to a Super Bowl, and the Texans fit that description.”
http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/227809/report-manning-may-want-to-play-for-texans

It's not too far fetched as some may think here, Matt Schaub is coming off an injury and in the last year of his deal. The Texans are one of the teams who Peyton can join and take to the Super Bowl. Great running game with Foster to relieve Peyton, Andre Johnson to throw to, great defense under Wade Phillips.

The plot thickens:
Manning underwent an unreported procedure last year between his May surgery and his September cervical neck fusion surgery. Banks adds a lot of new details in his extensive and well-reported piece.
More surgery expected: Manning’s neck has potentially developed bone spurs. The Colts believe further surgery is “nearly inevitable,” even if Manning can successfully return to football this year.
Manning pushed to play in December: The “extent and scope” of Manning’s on-field workouts in December initially frustrated former Colts Vice Chairman Bill Polian. Manning wanted to play in the red zone in the season’s final weeks, but the Colts medical staff ruled it out once they took a look at him.
Manning was unable to throw past 20-22 yards at the time.
Please discuss the latest on the former great Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl 41 winning quarterback #18 (sometimes annoying) Peyton Manning (injured for all of 2011) here.

Some quick hits: The Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins fans both created sites to get Peyton to the respective teams:

http://blacksportson...ing-for-peyton/
http://www.manningtomiami.com/

Also, www.NFL.com reports that Colts center Jeff Saturday wants Indianapolis to check out Manning throwing, but it's against the CBA. Eli Manning's doing much better. Personaly, I see no possible way that Peyton comes to the Baltimore Ravens. Just a couple nieve posters brought it up.

Don't we have another Peyton Manning Thread somewhere, I'm pretty sure we do.

Anyway, I think he goes to Arizona and does what Kurt Warner couldn't do.

The Cards messed up BIG trading for Kolb. He's not even better than Skelton, who's been a winner over there. They should cut or try to trade Kolb. Call me crazy, but I honestly think the Seahawks and Cardinals can be competitive WITHOUT Peyton. Both teams turned it around late last year with Tavaris and Skelton respectively.

Now Flynn is another story, especially for ARZ. He wouldn't cost as much, and the Cards wouldn't have to give up a desert farm for a QB two years in a row, like they would for Peyton.

Also, I'm surprised his name hasn't been mentioned with the Browns. Anyone know why that is? They have two first rounders and plenty more (cough*Falcons*cough). They need something to help them compete in this division.

Why would Peyton Manning want to go to Cleveland where there are 3 teams in the division with more talent?

Not to mention butt ugly jerseys.

First rounders or not, those players will still need time to develop. The Browns are still 5 years from challenging this division at best, and knowing how terrible that franchise is they might never get there.

Peyton will be going to Arizona. Case closed!

You think so, even though they drafted Skelton and paid Kolb?

OK some moderator deleted all the "official Peyton Manning Thread" business. Anyway, if I were Peyton Manning, I'd just retire. He's had a great career, and I wouldn't drag it on with little success on some less than average other team like Arizona or Seattle, etc.

Only thing I know is if Peyton goes to Arizona, I bet Larry Fitzgerald is going to be the most want WR in Fantasy Football.
