No gabe your wrong, saying we should sign flacco longterm because he has the promise to be a very good QB is saying he is Jesus, dont you know that?
Oh yeah thats right. It also means he deserves to make Tom Brady money and he is truly an elite QB.

Flacco definately isn't elite yet, im not <dumb> to where i think he should be cut.
Everyone on these forums just talk about Flacco like it's the 2nd coming of Jesus, and give no love to our defense and Ray Rice
Flacco really is just an above-average QB.

"Just" an above-average QB at this point in his career is fantastic. Seriously, what do you want from him?

You mean like making the playoffs four years in a row, and even winning playoff games? No one thinks Flacco is Aaron Rodgers, and he doesnt need to be. He runs our offense effectively and makes plays when needed. I dont want to pay Flacco 12M+, but that is the market that has been set for "Above average QBs" and keeping Flacco as a Raven is more important than overpaying by 1-2M dollars.

I'm uninformed of what?
I never said i hated Flacco, im just not as biased as you and your Flacco crew.
I'm a HUGE Ray Lewis homer, but i'd be the first to say he's losing a step.

No i mean pourous performances against Jacksonville, Arizona, Tennessee, and Seattle. Not to mention his below 50% completion against Cleveland TWICE.

Flacco dominated against Arizona in the second half and his last pass in Seattle was for a TD. I think if the D had held on that last Seahawks drive, we would have had a great shot to win,

Be that as it may, he was inconsistent throughout the entire season. Still, he came through many more times than not.

The fact that you threw Arizona into that list means you are in fact uninformed. So what, he has bad games at times. No one is disputing that fact. But guess what? Even the best QBs have bad games. Tom Brady throws 4 picks. Drew Brees throws 3 picks. Philip Rivers throws 4 picks. It happens. Eli Manning has been atrocious at times, but he also has 2 SB rings. Inconsistencies happen, but the fact that we went 12-4 and were on the brink of a SB means an awful lot. Flacco was a large reason why we got so far. How some of you guys fail to see that is mind-boggling.

He did come through in the second half. A lot of those games weren't just on the offense, but our defense as well.
Our defense is good, but when the D is on the field more snaps than the O, they bound to fatigue.

Sure they all have picks, but they also have a billion TD's and high completion rate.
Besides that we are getting off topic. This has turned into a "I Heart Flacco" thread.

You are really bad at formulating arguments. Maybe its because you dont have actual facts to back-up your stance.

So anyway. Flacco should get paid around 10-12 mil with incentives.
So he should get paid less than Mark Sanchez? I'll go back to my original point, the market dictates that Flacco should get somewhere in the 12-14M range. Is that over-paying? Perhaps, but his value to the Franchise makes it worth paying. QB is far too important a position to not lock up your Franchise guy, and Joe Flacco is just that. Blame teams like Arizona, NYJ, and Buffalo for spending too much on mediocre QBs. Flacco is better than that and should be paid accordingly.

Ozzie and co. Isn't NY,AZ, or BUF. Flacco will get paid what he is worth in Ozzie's eyes

I suppose that's true, but I hope you will come back and eat some crow when he gets paid more than 10M per year. I know it's hard to believe, but what Ozzie thinks Joe is worth may not be what you think Joe is worth.
doesn't matter if Ozzie thinks he's worth 8 or 20. The market has been set in and around 13 14 mil. Flacco will get that.

He'll get paid whatever our FO says he is worth. Judging by the rave reviews they gave Flacco, we're gonna have a bunch of whiny (well, whinier) Flacco haters when the contract is announced!
