What Is Chris Carr's Trade Value?

58 posts in this topic

I was just wondering if it is a possibility that we could trade Chris Carr, seeing that he a pretty big contract for a corner we don't even use that much. What do you think we could get out of him? Would a trade be worth it?

He's an overpaid, undersized, soon-to-be 29-year old CB coming off a season in which he played 9 games, started one, and broke up three passes.

If the organization can get anything more than 7th for him, I'd be ecstatic.

Could be a Mark Clayton, where he's a 7th round pick that could become a 6th round pick if certain conditions are met. I would love to trade him even for a 7th round pick. There are players in the 7th I would like to get rather than have him on the team. I've never been a fan of Chris Carr.

No more then a sixth, more likely a seventh

Pats seem an obvious home. Carr is experienced and could help lead their young secondary

Pats would be a good trade, but I don't think they have any late-round picks. Another good team would be the Colts, where Carr has a relationship with Pagano.

He was a shutdown CB last year. This year, as soon as he made a big mistake in the his starting game, other CBs took over and did a phenomenal job. And let's be real honest, Chris Carr is ALOT better than several CB in starting position in the league. If you look at Cowboys,Colts,Jaguars, Carr would be #2 CB immediately.

I would say his role in ravens rest alot on whether we maintain Cary Williams/Gorrer in #3/#4 CB roster. If he can't top Cary/Gorrer he is traded. I think its a fair chance he would garner a 5th/6th rounder at least.

Get Rid Of This Guy , Hes Undersized , So If Your Undersized , Have TALENT To Make Up For It , Which He Doesnt , Him & Ladarius Webb Are The Same Size , But BIGG Difference , PLAYMAKER !

Instead of trading carr, what about trading away foxy? He would then give us maybe a 5th/6th rounder at the most along with more cap space for wiggle room. He's injury prone and hasn't lived up to the expectations that were set on him, meaning that if a trade goes through, smith/williams would have more time to develop and for experience.

A water cooler, maybe.

6th round, at the very most. That would be a stretch.

Lol a water cooler. Carr can play he was imo the best CB on our team in 2010. Thats how he got that contract, but he got injured and other players developed well. I think he gets us a 7th he didn't have a good year.

Foxworth has 0 trade value with that contract.

A large #5 and shake... He was hurt last year and barely saw the field. When he did he made no impact.

If we traded Foxworth for anything, I would say Ozzie used his Jedi mind tricks on people. As someone already said, Foxworth has no value. Everyone knows he will be cut, which makes matters worse. Carr can at least stay on the team. Everyone knows Foxworth is gone at that salary

I agree with a 6th, but only because CB is such an important position today with the way offenses are evolving.

Not even the late Al Davis would give up a draft pick for Foxworth. Injury issues and then there's that huge salary that needs to be worked on

Carr has trade value, Foxworth has none

Good question. Perhaps we should get both Ocho & Hines & we can have Dancing with the Ravens.

Why is everyone talking about Chris Carr like he is a mop. He could start in atleast 4 teams in the league day one. In the right system( which isn't the one the ravens run lol) he would be a good corner. Short quick cover 2 guy. Don't be a hero just knock the ball down or make a tackle no yac. A lot of teams still run that esp dome teams.

He maybe undersized and blah blah blah, but dont forget how high everyone was on him in 2010 and how happy everyone was that he was on our team. Also he is solid depth and having not just depth, but depth that can make an impact would be retarded to get rid of.

I dont think we should write off, and I dont think our team will write him off just yet. He had a bad year last year flagged with injuries and if you remember he played pretty damn well in 2010 he was 2nd on our team in interceptions next to Ed Reed. And I think he adds good depth to our CBs we dont have that many corners. With Webb and Cary Williams amongst free agents who else do we have? Jimmy Smith, Carr, Cheike Brown, Danny Gorrer. Aside from Smith Webb and Williams Carr is the next dependable guy. And the other great thing is he is only due 2.5M this year thats not that much, if we made him take a paycut then he played better this year he is due about 3M next year and if he doesnt do good we can cut him then. I think people on here are overestimating our cornerback depth.

Id try for draft picks or another younger Corner prospect we could use, Id still keep him around though if no great deal comes cuz, hes a decent veteran that Im sure we could still use if hes healthy
