The Caps look so uninspired and it's like they don't even want to make it in. I said the Sabres will make it in when they were 6 points away from the 8th seed and I'm definitely sticking with my prediction now.

I feel the same way. It's a shame that Backstrom's return is looking like it won't be very significant.

Right Now:
1. Rangers
- Rangers in 5. Rangers are just a far better team all around, and mostly in goal.
8.Capitals

2.Boston
- Boston in 5. Ottawa is a very good young team, and very talented. I think this is about 2 years early for them though
7. Ottawa

3.Panthers
- I'm predicting this to be the last playoff series win for Marty Broduer. Devils in 5
6. Devils

4.Pens
- Toss up series, could go either way. Gotta go with your team though so Flyers in a 6 game war.
5.Flyers

Don't really care about the west. I don't know why, but Western Conference hockey has always just turned me off. Kind of like how we here love AFC North football, but not so much on NFC West Football lol.

Nicky is back! I hope this will propel them emotionally for 3 wins at least, in the last 4 games. With Backstrom, there isn't a team that wants to play the Caps. Oh and btw...this season, Caps are 9-0 when Ovechkin, Backstrom, Green, and Semin are all in the lineup. Watch out.

Western Conference is extremly difficult to play in. Every is so close together. it gonna come down to the last games. I don't see diffrences in the confrence hockey. In football yeah i see a diffrence.

BTW Sharks can never keep win streaks together. They came from #9 to #3 seed and then went back to #9 because they suck away.

Only issue this year is goaltending at this point. I love Holtby and think he is the future, but it's going to be tough if Neuvy and Vokoun can't come back for the playoffs.

what u think of the clowe play, they asked him about it and he said quote "i dont remember that play" haha yeah right, doughty said he should b suspended, pfft what a joke, i cant stand doughty

The defense is only bad when we sit back in prevent defense with any lead. Our PP has it's QB back with Nicky Backstrom, and Ovechkin has been hot, and always is in the playoffs. We still matchup well with the Rangers...beaten them 2 out of 3 years. I honestly think our offense easily can outdo theirs. Defensively, it's even, but I'd give the Rangers a leg up. Goaltending is the real advantage there for NY...and they've said that the two times we've beaten them.

I'm proud to say I predicted Phoenix and L.A.'s rise and Dallas' decline. The Pacific Division race this year might be a record-breaker for how close it is (anyone care to look it up?!)

And yeah, I can't imagine San Jose going anywhere in the playoffs, whether it be against Vancouver, St. Louis or Chicago.

I definitely feel sorry for him. The fate of the Caps defensively will be almost solely on his shoulders. It doesn't look good for 'Koun and Neuviurth. Enormous pressure for someone as young as him, especially in a playoff atmosphere.
